Best AoE Weapons in Warframe (2026)
Room-clearing picks for every slot
Last Updated on September 11, 2026
The short answer
Torid with its Incarnon adapter is the best AoE weapon in the game right now: a Toxin beam that chains across a room with no self-stagger. Kuva Zarr and Kuva Bramma hit harder per shot but stagger you and eat ammo. Kuva Nukor covers the secondary slot and Glaive Prime covers melee.
Reviewed September 10, 2026, current through Update 43.5. Iceblade of Narin lands September 23 and is not reflected yet; every page here gets re-checked after each major patch.

Ignis WraithFlamethrower| Weapon | MR | Why | How to get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Torid | 4 | Incarnon beam jumps across five enemies and keeps most of its damage per hop; no self-stagger, no reload gaps. | Clan Dojo Bio Lab; adapter from the Steel Path Circuit rotation |
| Kuva Zarr | 15 | Cannon mode drops a shell that splits into bomblets: the hardest room nuke, and the hungriest for ammo. | Kuva Lich carrying it |
| Kuva Bramma | 15 | Explosive arrows with cluster bomblets clear a corridor per shot; bring an ammo mod and Primed Sure Footed. | Kuva Lich carrying it |
| Tenet Arca Plasmor | 16 | One wide wave that bounces off surfaces and hits everything in its path, with no self-stagger at all. | Sister of Parvos carrying it |
| Acceltra Prime | 14 | Full-auto rockets with a deep magazine and a sprint reload; small blasts, mild stagger, huge clear rate. | Prime relics or trade |
| Kuva Ogris | 15 | Straight rockets with a large blast; slower than Zarr but easier to aim and cheaper on ammo. | Kuva Lich carrying it |
| Ignis Wraith | 9 | A cone beam that hits everything in front of you; perfect below level 100, falls off against Steel Path armor. | Clan Dojo Chem Lab or Baro Ki'Teer |

|---|---|---|---|
| Kuva Nukor | 13 | The beam chains to nearby enemies, so a crowd melts while you hold one target. | Kuva Lich carrying it |
| Epitaph | 8 | Charged shots explode in a radius with huge crit; uncharged shots spread status across the pack. | Void Storm missions (Railjack), then build |
| Dual Toxocyst | 11 | Incarnon mode is full-auto and every shot ricochets to a second enemy a few meters away. | Clan Dojo Bio Lab; adapter from the Steel Path Circuit rotation |
| Akarius Prime | 14 | Fires homing micro-rockets with radial damage; point in the general direction and the crowd dies. | Prime relics or trade |
| Tenet Cycron | 14 | Chain beam that never needs ammo, with a Tenet element bonus; a lazy, reliable crowd tool. | Sister of Parvos carrying it |
| Kompressa | 8 | Bubbles drift then pop in a radius; they also pop Nullifier bubbles and Arbitration drones. | Market blueprint |

Thrown Melee
| Mod | Why it is here |
|---|---|
| Serration | Base damage; every rifle and launcher build starts here. |
| Galvanized Chamber | More projectiles means more explosions per trigger pull. |
| Primed Firestorm | Bigger blast radius on rifle launchers; the AoE mod. |
| Vigilante Supplies | Ammo mutation in the Exilus slot; mandatory on Zarr, Bramma and Ogris. |
| Primed Sure Footed | Warframe Exilus that removes self-stagger; the reason launcher users can stand still. |
| Fulmination | Blast radius for secondaries like Epitaph and Akarius Prime. |
| Primed Reach | Melee range; turns Kronen and Guandao spins into room sweeps. |
| Volatile Quick Return | Glaives explode on the first bounce and come straight back. |
AoE rules you need to know
- Explosion damage uses a 1x headshot multiplier and cannot trigger headshot effects; only the direct hit can headshot.
- Launchers stagger you when you stand inside your own blast. Primed Sure Footed (Warframe Exilus) removes it; Cautious Shot on the weapon cuts it.
- Blast damage falls off from the center of the explosion to its edge, so the direct hit still matters.
- Launcher ammo pools are tiny. Vigilante Supplies or an ammo mutation mod, Carrier's Ammo Case, or Cyte-09 keep them fed.
- Beams and waves (Torid Incarnon, Ignis Wraith, Tenet Arca Plasmor, Kuva Nukor) have no self-stagger and no explosion falloff.
- Bosses with damage attenuation (Archons, Acolytes) shrink AoE damage hard; switch to the single-target picks for them.
Still recommended, no longer worth it
| Weapon | Why it fell off |
|---|---|
| Kuva Tonkor | One grenade per shot on a long arc; Zarr and Ogris do the same job faster. |
| Lenz | Charge delay, self-stagger and a tiny ammo pool; Kuva Bramma replaced it years ago. |
