Kuva Bramma

Build it if a Lich hands you one. Don’t farm a Lich specifically hoping for a Bramma drop, not anymore. It still clears rooms fast on the star chart, and normal Steel Path is no problem. Ammo’s tight, though, and endurance players have moved on to Torid Incarnon and Kuva Zarr.

Unique trait: Progenitor Element

Every Bramma comes off a Lich carrying a bonus damage type (Impact, Heat, Cold, Electricity, Toxin, Magnetic, or Radiation) worth 25 to 60 percent extra damage. Which one you get depends on which Warframe the Lich was based on. It counts as base damage, so crit and elemental mods scale it right along with everything else.

The Kuva Bramma is a Grineer bow. Charge it, release, and the arrow detonates on impact into three cluster bomblets that rain down around the blast. One good hit wipes a room of trash on the star chart. Still true as of Update 43, September 2026.

It used to be able to kill you too. Get caught in your own blast and the old self-damage system could take you out on the spot. That’s gone now. Self damage got pulled from the game entirely and replaced with self-stagger, so a bad shot at close range knocks you around instead of ending your mission.

No Incarnon form here. Bramma isn’t part of the current Incarnon Genesis rotation running through the Steel Path Circuit, so if that’s what you’re after, look at Torid or Vectis instead. Bramma’s whole identity runs through the Kuva Lich system, covered below.

Here’s a build walkthrough from earlier in 2026 if you want to see the mods in action.

How to get the Kuva Bramma

You don’t build this one, and you can’t just buy it. It drops from a Kuva Lich, specifically one that already spawned carrying a Bramma. Fight its influence down on Kuva Fortress or regular Grineer missions at level 20 and up, work through its murmurs, then vanquish it in a Railjack mission. The weapon lands in your Foundry already built. No crafting timer.

Getting to that point requires The War Within finished, Mastery Rank 5, and access to a Railjack for the final confrontation. The listed Mastery Rank requirement on the weapon itself is 15, but that gate doesn’t apply here. Beating the Lich skips the normal crafting and MR check entirely, so a fresh MR5 account can walk away with one.

Grind is real, though. You’re farming murmurs across several missions per Lich, and there’s no guarantee the one you get is carrying a Bramma instead of some other weapon. You either reroll Liches until one spawns with it or trade for someone else’s. The weapon itself isn’t tradeable directly, but a Lich still carrying it can be traded through the Dojo’s Crimson Branch, and whoever receives it vanquishes it themselves to claim the weapon.

Once you have a copy, its bonus element is locked to whatever the Lich’s progenitor Warframe determined. Two ways to change that. Valence Fusion needs a second Bramma to fuse in and lets you pick which element survives. Elemental Vice is an item that lets you reroll the element on a single copy with no duplicate weapon needed, and it runs about 20 Platinum, or 50,000 Hex standing, or drops from Temporal Archimedea. It’s the faster route if you don’t want to hunt two Liches for the same weapon.

Riven disposition sits at 0.65 out of 5, near the bottom of the scale. Rivens for the Bramma roll weaker stats for the same trade cost than a high-disposition weapon gets, so don’t expect a cheap riven to transform this one.

Builds

Two build directions show up in current guides, and they share most of their mods. Both push crit chance and crit damage hard first, then split on the last two slots. One route stays full crit and swaps in Bladed Rounds for extra crit damage per kill, which needs Mastery Rank 9. The other leans status and elemental, running Thermite Rounds and Malignant Force to layer Heat and Toxin on top of the weapon’s Cold and its native Blast proc. Neither is wrong. It comes down to which mods you’ve already farmed. The core loadout below is what’s confirmed through mid-2026 guides, and nothing in Update 43’s patch notes touched Bramma directly, so it should still hold.

The Exilus slot goes to Vigilante Supplies almost every time. Not because it hits hard, but because Bramma’s quiver is tiny, commonly cited around 15 rounds in reserve. Vigilante Supplies converts secondary ammo pickups into primary ammo, which keeps you shooting instead of running back to a crate every few fights.

ModEffect
Critical Delay+200% critical chance, -20% fire rate. Bows take double that fire rate penalty, so plan for slower shots.
Vital Sense+120% critical damage.
Primed Firestorm+44% blast radius on the radial explosion.
Primed Cryo Rounds+165% Cold damage. Feeds Bramma’s Heat and Cold mix into its Blast proc, and can push the combo toward Viral.
Galvanized Chamber+80% multishot, plus a stacking +30% per kill up to 5 stacks.
Amalgam SerrationFlat damage increase. This build’s base damage mod (plain Serration works the same slot if you don’t have the Amalgam version).
Thermite RoundsAdds Heat damage as part of the status build’s elemental mix.
Malignant ForceAdds Toxin damage as part of the status build’s elemental mix.

Vigilante Supplies is a set mod. Run two pieces of the Vigilante set and it opens a Primary-set arcane slot. Current builds put Primary Merciless there, with Primary Bulwark listed as the alternative.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • The charged arrow plus its three cluster bomblets clears rooms in one shot on star chart missions and most non-endurance content.
  • Strong base stats across the board (35% crit chance, 2.1x crit multiplier, 21% status chance) that support crit builds and status builds equally well.
  • Self damage is gone. A bad shot near your own blast staggers you instead of killing you.
  • Progenitor element plus Valence Fusion or Elemental Vice let you pick or change the bonus damage type without hunting down a second Lich every time.
  • Alt-fire detonates the arrow mid-air, useful against flying or ranged targets and for area denial before enemies close in.

Cons

  • Self-stagger triggers on every explosion and every bomblet. Stand too close to your own blast and you get stumbled or fully knocked down, which punishes corridor and close-range play unless you build around it.
  • Ammo capacity is small, commonly cited around 15 in reserve. Expect to lean on a secondary weapon, ammo-restore mods, or frame abilities.
  • The explosion and bomblets can’t land headshots, capped at a 1x multiplier on the AoE portion, which limits how far crit-headshot multipliers push the ceiling.
  • Riven disposition is low at 0.65 of 5, so rivens roll weaker stats for the same cost compared to higher-disposition weapons.
  • No longer the top pick for Steel Path endurance after the game-wide AoE and ammo economy rework. Torid Incarnon and Kuva Zarr outperform it there now, though it still handles normal content and most Steel Path fine.

This is a weapon for players sitting on a Lich-dropped copy who want a bow that clears rooms fast on the star chart and cruises through normal Steel Path. It’s not worth farming Liches specifically for one anymore, not with Torid Incarnon and Kuva Zarr covering the endurance role better.

If you already have one, mod it up and use it. Carry a secondary you trust. The quiver runs dry fast, and you’ll want the backup.
