Build it. Not for the base gun, which is genuinely bad, but for the Incarnon, which turns a 5% crit throwaway pistol into an S-tier Steel Path secondary. If you’re not running Incarnon Form, skip it entirely and go use something else.
Every headshot triggers a 3-second buff: roughly 2.5x fire rate, +100% bonus Toxin, and near-zero recoil. The Incarnon ricochet keeps tagging heads for you, so the buff practically sustains itself.
The Dual Toxocyst is a pair of biotic pistols nobody touched for years. Low crit chance, 75 damage split across Puncture, Impact, and Slash, nothing special. What makes it worth a page in 2026 is Frenzy, its innate passive: land a headshot and you get a 3-second buff that pushes fire rate to roughly 2.5x, adds 100% bonus Toxin damage, cuts recoil hard, and gives you close to free ammo. Land another headshot before it expires and the buff refreshes. Chain headshots and you’re holding down the trigger on what feels like a completely different weapon.
Pair that with the Incarnon Form and the ricochet from each shot tags a second nearby enemy within 5 meters, which means your headshots start landing themselves. That’s the whole appeal. The base weapon sat ignored on the market for most of Warframe’s life. Incarnon Genesis fixed it.
How to get the Dual Toxocyst
No boss fight, no rare drop table. The Dual Toxocyst is a straight Dojo research weapon. You need Mastery Rank 11 to equip it, and your clan’s Bio Lab has to research the blueprint first: 30,000 Credits, 4 Mutagen Mass, 6,500 Nano Spores, 1,100 Plastids, and 1 Forma, with a one-day build timer. Once research clears, building the weapon itself runs 15,000 Credits plus parts. If your clan already has it researched, that part’s done and you just need Credits and the build queue.
Don’t want to deal with any of that? The whole weapon is buyable outright in the Arsenal for 175 Platinum. You still need MR11 to equip it either way.
The Incarnon adapter is the harder part. Incarnon Genesis for the Dual Toxocyst comes from The Circuit’s Steel Path mode in Duviri, as a Tier 5 rotation reward, and it’s only available during its assigned week in the Circuit’s rotation. That rotation runs on a 9-week cycle now, up from 8, so miss the week and you’re waiting roughly two months for it to come back around. When it’s live, Cavalero in the Chrysalith installs it for 20 Pathos Clamps, 70 Yao Shrubs, and 80 Eevani, or you can just buy it from his Incarnon market for 120 Platinum during that same week. Platinum skips the Circuit run. It does not skip the wait if the week isn’t active.

5% crit chance on paper looks like a mercy kill, and without Frenzy running it kind of is. The number that matters is the 1.35 riven disposition. That’s on the high end of the scale, and it leaves real room to push crit or damage further with a decent Toxocyst riven if you’re chasing red crits on top of the Incarnon buffs.
Builds
The idea here is simple: stack crit and headshot damage as hard as possible, because between Frenzy and the Incarnon ricochet you’re basically always landing headshots once a fight starts. This isn’t a build that needs elemental coverage or status chance. It needs damage per headshot and enough fire rate mods that Frenzy’s multiplier has something to multiply.

Pistol
| Mod | Why it’s here |
|---|---|
| Primed Pistol Gambit | Straight crit chance and crit damage, the backbone of the whole build. |
| Primed Target Cracker | More crit damage stacked on top, since everything you hit is a headshot anyway. |
| Galvanized Crosshairs | Crit chance that scales with headshot kills, and you’re getting a lot of those. |
| Galvanized Diffusion | Multishot that ramps the same way, more pellets means more chances to crit. |
| Lethal Torrent | Cheap fire rate and multishot, feeds directly into what Frenzy is already boosting. |
| Galvanized Shot | Status chance, plus stacking damage per status type on the target after kills. |
| Primed Convulsion | Electricity damage that merges with Frenzy’s bonus Toxin into Corrosive. |
| Merciless Gunfight | Crit damage plus punch through, and the punch through extends how far your ricochet chain reaches. |
Arcane slot goes to Secondary Deadhead. It stacks a separate headshot multiplier on top of your normal crit multiplier and it’s stupidly easy to proc when the Incarnon ricochet is tagging heads for you. If you’re dying more than you’d like, Secondary Fortifier is the fallback. The ricochet is hitting multiple enemies every time you fire, so you’re shredding shields fast, and Fortifier turns that shield damage into free Overguard for you. That last part in the mod row, Merciless Gunfight, isn’t set in stone. Some guides run a faction Expel mod there instead. Treat it as your flex slot and swap based on what you’re fighting.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Frenzy turns a mediocre pistol into a roughly 2.5x fire-rate, +100% Toxin, nearly recoilless machine gun the moment you land a headshot.
- Incarnon ricochet keeps tagging heads on its own, so Frenzy, Deadhead, and your crit buffs stay up almost automatically once you’re shooting.
- Sitting in S or SS tier on current Incarnon rankings, with kills-per-minute that beat a lot of primaries.
- Cheap, RNG-free base weapon. Pure Dojo research at MR11, no boss grind, no drop table.
- 1.35 riven disposition leaves real headroom if you want to push crit even further.
Cons
- On its own, without Frenzy active, this thing is boring. 5% crit chance and 75 damage, nothing to write home about.
- Frenzy’s 3-second window has to be refreshed with headshots. In low-level content where things die in one shot, the buff can lapse before your next target.
- The Incarnon Form’s 270-round magazine is a separate pool. Frenzy’s ammo efficiency doesn’t cover it and Ammo Efficiency mods don’t touch it either, so there’s a real ceiling even mid-buff.
- Incarnon Genesis only shows up during its assigned week in the Circuit’s 9-week rotation. Miss it and you’re waiting close to two months, or paying Platinum instead.
This is for players who already cleared MR11 and want a Steel Path secondary that carries its own weight instead of riding shotgun to your primary. It rewards accuracy. If you can’t land headshots consistently, most of what makes this weapon good just doesn’t turn on. Grab the base weapon cheap through the Dojo now, and plan your Circuit runs around whichever week the Incarnon lands.
