Build it if you already own it since its rare hybrid crit/status line (32% crit, 2.4x multiplier, 20% status) scales as a red-crit Blood Rush weapon or a Condition Overload status stick with no rework. The only real weakness is access, not power, since Guandao Prime is Prime Vaulted and you can’t farm a fresh copy from relics right now.
Guandao Prime’s oversized blade gives it the longest reach of any Polearm at 3 meters, letting Shimmering Blight’s spin combos tag whole enemy clusters per swing. Its even crit/status split lets it flex into either scaling build instead of forcing one path.
Guandao Prime is a Polearm running an unusually balanced 32% crit / 20% status split with a 2.4x multiplier, which keeps it on 2026 S-tier lists since most Polearms lean hard into just one of those stats.
How to get the Guandao Prime
- Check your own inventory and relics first: all nine Guandao Prime relics are vaulted and no longer drop from missions as of late 2022.
- If you don’t already have relics or parts, watch for the next Prime Resurgence rotation on Varzia in-game, or check the current relic screen yourself since vault rotations do change.
- Alternative to waiting: buy the built weapon or its Prime parts from another player through the in-game Trading chat/Warframe Market-style trades (standard Prime trading rules apply).
- If you do have matching vaulted relics already banked, run Void Fissure missions of the matching era to pull Blueprint, Blade, Handle, and other parts, then build each piece and the final weapon in the Foundry.
- There is no Incarnon Genesis adapter for this weapon, so there is no Circuit step to add on top.
- Once built, level it to rank 30 and add Forma (2 to 4 is typical for a serious endgame loadout) before chasing the build below.
Guandao Prime parts and the finished weapon can be freely traded between players even while vaulted, since standard Prime trading rules don’t stop at vault status. There is no direct platinum purchase on the Market for a Prime weapon; trading or relics are the only routes.

Builds
Run it as a hybrid crit/status weapon since Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds both turn the combo counter into extra crit and status chance, turning the 32%/20% split into red crits with guaranteed multi-procs. Condition Overload then multiplies damage off every status effect those procs stack, so both conversion mods pull full value instead of one going to waste.

Melee
| Mod | Why it’s here |
|---|---|
| Primed Pressure Point | Flat base damage increase that crit, status, and Condition Overload all multiply off of. |
| Blood Rush | Converts the combo counter into extra crit chance, turning the weapon’s 32% base into consistent red crits. |
| Weeping Wounds | Converts the combo counter into extra status chance, stacking multiple procs per hit off the 20% base. |
| Condition Overload | Each status effect already stacked by Weeping Wounds adds a flat damage multiplier, rewarding this weapon’s natural status output. |
| Berserker Fury | Attack speed on crits builds the combo counter faster, which is what Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds both scale off. |
| Drifting Contact | Extends combo duration so the counter, and the crit/status bonuses it grants, doesn’t decay between engagements. |
| Virulent Scourge | Adds Toxin damage and pairs with North Wind to form Viral, which boosts damage against enemy health. |
| North Wind | Adds Cold damage, completing the Toxin plus Cold Viral combo that works well against health-tanky Steel Path targets. |
Melee Crescendo, a Legendary Netracell-exclusive arcane, is the top pick since finisher kills bank permanent starting combo so Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds scale from the first swing; a cheaper alternative is Melee Exposure from Cavia standing on Deimos, which stacks Corrosive damage on melee strikes when you cast a warframe ability.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Longest reach in the Polearm category, hits whole groups per swing
- Rare even crit/status split lets it run either scaling style without a rebuild
- S-tier Steel Path viability confirmed across 2026 tier lists
- Shimmering Blight stance covers wide spinning combos plus a strong slam/lift finisher
- Performs well even on low-Forma budget builds per community loadouts
Cons
- Prime Vaulted: no relic farming right now, only trading or waiting for a resurgence rerun
- Below-average 0.70x riven disposition makes riven rolls weaker per plat spent
- Base attack speed is on the slow side for a hybrid weapon, needs Berserker Fury or similar to ramp combo quickly
- No Incarnon Genesis adapter, so it misses the free evolution power spike other weapons in its class get
Guandao Prime is for players who already own it or can trade for it and want a low-maintenance hybrid melee that skips the crit-only or status-only choice, Steel Path ready straight out of your inventory even though it’s not worth chasing fresh from vaulted relics.
