Ignis Wraith

Build and guide

Build it: the beam’s infinite punch through ends in a 3 meter blast that procs Heat and Viral on everything nearby with almost no aim needed. Its real weakness is no Incarnon Genesis adapter, so the damage ceiling caps out below deep Steel Path endurance and it stays a leveling and regular-mission tool, not an endgame damage dealer.

Unique trait: Continuous Beam Blast

Damage ramps from 35% to 100% over 0.6 seconds of sustained fire, then decays back down over 2 seconds after you release the trigger. Infinite punch through carries the beam’s 3 meter spherical explosion through every enemy in a line, clearing crowds instead of single targets.

Ignis Wraith is the Wraith variant of the Grineer Ignis, a Mastery Rank 9 continuous Heat beam primary that still matters in 2026 because its punch-through beam and AoE blast clear crowds with almost no aiming.

How to get the Ignis Wraith

  1. Check Baro Ki’Teer’s rotating stock at the Tenno Relay Concourse; he occasionally sells a fully built Ignis Wraith for 250,000 Credits and 550 Ducats, but availability is not guaranteed on any given visit.
  2. Alternatively, research the blueprint in your Clan’s Chem Lab (a higher clan research tier is required), then build it with the usual credit and resource cost on the standard timer or rush it with Platinum.
  3. Watch for the annual Star Days event in Fortuna, where Ticker sells the blueprint for Advances Debt-Bonds during that limited window.
  4. This weapon is not tied to a Relic drop table, so ignore any source claiming otherwise; confirm current acquisition options on the in-game Market or Codex, or check with Varzia if something looks off.
  5. No Incarnon Genesis adapter exists for Ignis or Ignis Wraith, so there is no Circuit farming step to add for this weapon.

The copy sold by Baro is not tradeable, and his stock rotates unpredictably, so clan Chem Lab research is the more reliable long-term route if your clan has reached the required tier.

Riven disposition is 0.65, one of the lower tiers in the game, so a riven brings a smaller stat budget for the plat spent and is only worth grabbing cheap and unrolled if you already like the weapon, not chasing an expensive roll.

Builds

Low 17% crit chance (2.5x multiplier) but strong 29% status chance and multiple beam ticks per second make this a status build, not crit. Add Cold and Toxin to the innate Heat for a Viral status layer, then lean on status and flat damage mods so each tick compounds.

ModWhy it’s here
SerrationFlat base damage multiplier that scales every tick the beam fires.
Vile AccelerationHigher fire rate raises the beam’s tick rate, pushing both DPS and status procs per second.
Cryo RoundsAdds Cold damage that combines with Infected Clip into Viral, stacking alongside the weapon’s own Heat instead of replacing it.
Infected ClipAdds Toxin to complete the Viral combo with Cryo Rounds so the beam applies Heat and Viral status at once.
Galvanized AptitudeAdds flat bonus damage per status effect already on the target, rewarding how fast this weapon stacks procs.
Galvanized ChamberTurns kills into stacking crit chance and multishot, propping up the weapon’s otherwise middling 17% base crit.
FirestormWidens the 3 meter blast at the beam’s endpoint, which is the actual hitbox dealing most of the weapon’s damage to crowds.
Vigilante ArmamentsCheap no-downside multishot that still buys extra status and crit rolls per beam tick even without adding new beams.

Primary Merciless is the top arcane since its stacks come from any kill, not headshots, which suits this weapon’s blast damage; Primary Deadhead is a cheaper, more common alternative but its headshot requirement fits the spray playstyle worse.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • No aim required; the wide AoE beam clears rooms on its own
  • Innate infinite punch through hits everything lined up behind the target
  • High status chance stacks Heat and Viral procs fast
  • Big ammo reserve makes the continuous beam cheap to sustain
  • Low Forma investment needed to feel strong through regular Star Chart and early Steel Path

Cons

  • Damage falls off hard in deep Steel Path and endurance content
  • The AoE blast portion cannot land headshot crits, limiting headshot-based arcanes and mods
  • Low 0.65 riven disposition caps how much a riven can boost it
  • Acquisition is gated behind Baro’s rotating stock, a clan tech tier, or a once-a-year event

This is the pick for Mastery Rank 9-plus players who want a low-effort, nearly aim-free AoE primary for regular missions, objective defense, and low to mid Steel Path leveling, not deep endurance runs.
