Build it if you get the shot. It’s a free, top tier status primer with the highest critical multiplier in the game, once you mod around that weak base crit chance. One catch: you can’t farm it directly. A Kuva Lich has to be carrying one before you even get a shot at it.
The beam jumps to two extra enemies within 9 meters instead of just hitting one target. It also ramps up over time: 30% damage at the start of a burst, climbing to 100% after about 0.6 seconds of continuous fire, then decaying back down once you let go of the trigger for 2 seconds. Short taps waste most of what makes this weapon good.
Kuva Nukor doesn’t kill fast by itself. What it does is set every enemy near your target up to die faster to everything else in your kit.
Half your shots proc a status effect, and the beam hits a full cluster instead of one body. Stack radiation, heat, toxin and cold on a group of enemies in under a second, and whatever you swap to next, melee, a primary, another secondary, chews through them at a fraction of their starting health. That’s the entire reason people still grind for this thing in Update 43.
How to get the Kuva Nukor
You can’t buy, trade for, or build the Kuva Nukor in the Foundry: it only drops from whichever Kuva Lich happens to be carrying one, and that’s random.
- Finish The War Within to unlock the Lich system.
- Damage a Kuva Larvling on any Grineer node with an enemy level of 20 or higher, without landing the finishing headshot or melee execute, to spare it and turn it into your Lich.
- Check its icon on the minimap or the Lich screen for the weapon type; if it’s not a Nukor, let that Larvling go and try again on a fresh spawn.
- Run missions and kill its Thralls to build murmurs, which reveal the correct order of the three Requiem mods.
- Once you have the full order, hunt the Lich down and choose Vanquish, not Convert (Convert turns it into an ally and you never get the weapon).
- Collect the weapon straight from your Foundry: fully built, rank 30 capable, no resources and no build timer.
The listed Mastery Rank requirement is 13, but that doesn’t apply here. It comes from a Lich kill, not a normal Foundry build, so you can claim and equip it at any Mastery Rank.
Every Lich weapon also inherits a bonus element from whichever Warframe your Lich was themed after, worth anywhere from 25% to 60% of the weapon’s base damage. Most current build guides point at Magnetic or Toxin as the strongest picks for a Kuva Nukor: Magnetic sets up a Corrosive, Radiation and Magnetic status spread strong against shields and robotics, while Toxin is flexible, turning into Corrosive, Viral or Gas depending on what you’re fighting.
At least one guide recommends Cold instead. Treat that as a minority pick, not the consensus.
Want to push your bonus element toward that 60% cap?
- Use Valence Fusion to feed a second, same-element Kuva Nukor into this one.
- Once the weapon hits rank 40, slot the Elemental Vice mod to swap the progenitor element outright, no second Lich needed.

Riven disposition sits at 0.50, one dot out of five. That’s among the lowest in the game. A good roll barely moves this weapon’s numbers, so there’s little reason to chase or buy one for it.
Builds
This isn’t a weapon you build to solo kill things. You beam a group for under a second, stack four or more status effects across them, then swap to whatever finishes the job: melee running Condition Overload, a primary that scales off status count, anything else in your kit that reads status. The build below chases status chance and status variety over raw base damage.

| Mod | Effect |

| Primed Target Cracker | +110% critical damage. |
| Ruinous Extension (Exilus) | +8 meters beam range. |
Swap Hornet Strike for Primed Pistol Gambit if you’re running the Secondary Enervate arcane and want more crit chance instead of raw multishot. In the Exilus slot, Ruinous Extension stretches both the main beam and the 9 meter chain radius. Useful if you want to tag a cluster from further back instead of walking into melee range.
Run Secondary Enervate if you have it. Fully ranked, it stacks roughly 10% critical chance per non-crit hit, up to a reported 80 to 107% before a crit resets the stack. Kuva Nukor’s base crit chance is only 7%, so nearly every tick you fire is a non-crit, and the stack builds fast. Paired with Primed Target Cracker and the weapon’s 5.0x base critical multiplier, the highest of any weapon in the game, that turns a support weapon into a real damage weapon too.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Best status primer in the game. The beam chains to two extra enemies within 9 meters and carries a 50% base status chance. A full cluster gets four or more status types stacked in under a second.
- Highest critical multiplier of any weapon at 5.0x base. Once crit chance is patched up with Primed Target Cracker and Secondary Enervate, it’s a real damage weapon, not just a support tool.
- Completely free to get. No plat, no build timer, no resources. It drops fully built the moment you Vanquish the right Lich.
- Flexible bonus element. Push it toward Magnetic or Toxin with Valence Fusion, or reassign it later with Elemental Vice once the weapon hits rank 40, without hunting down a second Lich.
- Frame agnostic. Its job is priming, not finishing, so it pulls its weight in Steel Path squads no matter what frame or loadout you’re running.
Cons
- Riven disposition is 0.50, one of the lowest in the game. Don’t bother rolling or buying a riven for this one.
- Base crit chance is 7%. That huge multiplier does nothing until you specifically build around it.
- The beam mechanic is clunkier than hitscan or burst weapons. Damage ramps up over 0.6 seconds of sustained fire and decays 2 seconds after you let go. It also burns half an ammo per tick, so stutter firing wastes a lot of its potential.
- Getting one at all is entirely RNG. You can’t buy it, trade for it, or farm it directly. You’re stuck rerolling Larvlings until one carries a Nukor, then grinding murmurs to kill it, and landing your preferred bonus element on top of that is its own separate grind.
This is a weapon for squad players who care about the whole team’s damage, not just their own kill count. If you run melee with Condition Overload, or lean on Galvanized mods anywhere else in your loadout, a beam that stacks four status types on a cluster in under a second is worth the grind. If you just want a secondary that kills things on its own with no setup, there are faster paths to that than hunting Liches.
