Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes – All Events and Upgrades Explained

Last Updated on October 16, 2022

The much-awaited month-long Destiny 2 annual summer event of 2021 —  Solstice of Heroes —  has finally arrived, and it introduces a plethora of new activities and armor sets that Destiny fans can play for free now.

These new updates include the EAZ, Universal Ornaments, Elemental Orb upgrades, armor upgrades, and more. This guide will cover all you need to know about the latest Solstice of Heroes update.

What’s new in the latest Solstice of Heroes Update?

Season of the Splicer’s Solstice of Heroes introduces and brings back gameplay elements to give Destiny 2 fans more incentive to play this first-person looter shooter.

EAZ Returns in Season of the Splicer

The European Aerial Zone, or EAZ, makes its flashy return. First appearing in Season of Opulence, and then Season of Arrivals and Season of the Splicer, in this game mode, you get to battle and defeat bosses, utilizing special map-based aerial movement in a time crunch.

How it works: In each daily reset — the map alternates between Arc Day, Solar Day, or Void Day — and you and a band of two other Guardians compose a fireteam to take down enemy encounters.

With each mini-boss you defeat under the time limit, you’ll increase your odds of attaining more chest locations spawning on the map. As you defeat the mini-bosses and disappear from the map, you’ll encounter your final battle which is to fight either a Cabal (Day spawn), Fallen (Day spawn), or Hive boss (Night spawn).

Once all enemies have been defeated, your final mission is to find all the chest locations containing Solstice Packages that have spawned, which correspond to how many bosses you killed.

What’s New in the Eververse Store?

The Eververse store brings new cosmetic items for Guardians to equip. In particular, players can now gain access to Universal Ornaments which can be attached to any armor pieces. Depending on the player’s subclass, a glowing sheen can emit from the armor piece.

Unlike the previous installments and trials, last year’s Beyond Light expansion pack’s Stasis subclass also comes with its own distinct armor glow.

What Are Solstice of Heroes Elemental Orbs?

Each day, Solstice of Heroes will go through a daily rotation which increases the damage of either Arc, Solar, Stasis, or Void elemental powers. This happens once you complete a prerequisite.

To access this perk, you’ll have to defeat enemies who drop the day’s elemental burn. Once you collect 30 of these Elemental Orbs, you’ll get to activate a powerful buff. Here are the respective buffs of each elemental orb:

Note: You have to equip their respective subclass and weapons to wield the power.

  • Arc Orb: Guardians move with enhanced speed; greater Melee and Sword damage.
  • Solar Orb: Guardians emit an AOE energy wave that radiates damage around them.
  • Stasis Orb: Guardians gain stasis empowerment.
  • Void Orb: You gain Truesight, an ability to regenerate more quickly, and invisibility.

Where is The New Solstice New Armor sets?

To get the Solstice Armor Upgrades, you have to talk to Eva Levante first. She will give you a new helmet that corresponds to your subclass. She will ask you to head over to the EAZ and complete your Guardian’s assigned activity.

Once you’ve carried out the task, return to her and she’ll assign you a new quest: to meditate at the Statue of Heroes. Agree to the quest and you’ll get the Renewed set to complete the helmet she gave you initially.
