How to Get Critical Delay in Warframe (2026): Where It Drops, Stats and Is It Worth It

At max rank, Critical Delay increases critical chance by 200% and reduces fire rate by 20% for rifles

Last Updated on September 14, 2026

The short answer

Critical Delay is a rare rifle (primary) mod: At max rank, Critical Delay increases critical chance by 200% and reduces fire rate by 20% for rifles, or by 40% for bows. The fastest way to get Critical Delay is to farm Derelict Vaults. More crit chance than Point Strike on slow guns; the fire rate loss only matters on automatics and bows.

Tips that save runs

  • Speed Trigger on rifles to offset the fire rate penalty.
  • Shred on rifles to offset the fire rate penalty.
  • Internal Bleeding on weapons with a fire rate of 3.12 or lower to activate its bonus.
  • Critical Delay cannot be equipped simultaneously with Point Strike.
  • The fire rate penalty is doubled on bows.

Mistakes that waste runs

  • Players often assume it is always worse than Point Strike.
  • Players underestimate its utility on single-shot weapons.
  • Players do not consider its interaction with Internal Bleeding.
