Build it. The base Braton on its own is nothing special, but the Incarnon Genesis adapter turns it into a genuinely strong hitscan rifle for the cheapest buy-in in the game. Skip modding the plain, non-Incarnon version past a basic damage mod, since the rest of this build only matters once Incarnon Form is unlocked.
Land roughly 20 weakpoint hits to fill the Transmutation gauge under the reticle, then hit Alt-Fire. The Braton flips into Incarnon Form: full-auto, hitscan, every shot detonating in a roughly 3-meter Heat blast on impact. It draws from its own separate ammo pool instead of your mag.
The Braton is Warframe’s default rifle. Since Update 34 in October 2023, it’s what new players get handed during the Vor’s Prize tutorial, not the old Mk1-Braton that filled that role before. Everyone else can just buy it from the Market.
On its own, it’s forgettable. 24 total damage, low crit chance, low status. Nothing here survives deep Steel Path unmodified.
What makes it worth a slot is Incarnon Genesis. As of 2026, you can buy the adapter outright instead of grinding Steel Path Circuit for it. That’s one of the cheapest shortcuts to a strong weapon in the game right now.
- Full-auto and hitscan, not a projectile.
- Every shot adds a roughly 3-meter Heat explosion on impact.
- Runs on its own ammo pool: 10 rounds per charge, up to 200 max, separate from your normal reserves.
- Damage falls off with range.
- Fire rate drops somewhat compared to the base, non-Incarnon form.
How to get the Braton
Getting the gun is cheap. Getting it good takes a little more work.
- New account: play Vor’s Prize. Cost: free, you’re handed a Braton automatically as part of the tutorial.
- Already past the tutorial and don’t own one: buy it from the Market. Cost: 25,000 Credits. Requirement: Mastery Rank 0.
Three other Braton variants exist if you want options for the Incarnon adapter later.
| Variant | How to get it | MR requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Mk1-Braton | Market, 15,000 Credits | 0 |
| Braton Prime | Blueprint pieces from Void Relics, built at the Foundry. Never Vaulted, so it’s always farmable. Check Varzia or the in-game relic screen for which relics currently drop it. | 8 |
| Braton Vandal | Elite Sanctuary Onslaught reward, roughly 2.51 to 3.16% per rotation depending on which one | 4 |
The Incarnon Genesis adapter is the part that actually matters. It installs on any of the four variants interchangeably.
- Unlock the prerequisites. Requirement: The Duviri Paradox and Angels of the Zariman completed, Steel Path unlocked.
- Free route: run The Circuit on Steel Path with Cavalero in the Chrysalith for a chance at the Braton Incarnon Genesis blueprint. Cost to install once you have it: 20 Pathos Clamps, 60 Rune Marrow, 60 Tasoma Extract.
- Fast route: skip the grind and buy the adapter directly from Cavalero. Cost: 120 Platinum, one-time purchase, install resources included.
Evolution challenges are shared across every Braton variant. Clear them once, on whichever one you own, and the unlocks apply to all four. The flat damage bonus they grant still differs per variant.
| Variant | Flat damage evolution |
|---|---|
| Braton | about +24 |
| Mk1-Braton | about +28 |
| Braton Prime | about +4 |
| Braton Vandal | about +12 |
Stats
| Class | Primary |
|---|---|
| Mastery Rank | 0 |
| Trigger | AUTO |
| Noise | Alarming |
| Fire Rate | 8.75 |
| Accuracy | 28.6 |
| Magazine | 45 |
| Reload | 2 s |
| Critical Chance | 12% |
| Critical Multiplier | 1.6x |
| Status Chance | 6% |
| Riven Disposition | (1.35) |
| Damage | 24 total |
|---|---|
| Impact | 7.9 |
| Puncture | 7.9 |
| Slash | 8.2 |
Riven disposition sits at 1.35, five dots, the highest band in the game. A well-rolled Braton Riven can meaningfully outperform what the base stats suggest. Braton Prime runs a bit lower at 1.25, four dots, if that’s the variant you’re modding.
Builds
This build leans into what Incarnon Form actually rewards: headshots and crit. Cold and Toxin combine into Viral for the extra health-damage scaling, and the mod slots lean hard into critical chance and critical damage over raw multishot.
Evolution picks matter almost as much as the mods.
- Evolution IV: Critical Parallel or Prelude of Might for pure crit, Survivor’s Edge for a crit and status hybrid.
- Evolution III alternative: Void’s Guidance, +60% accuracy and -60% recoil, stacks toward near-zero recoil if you’re also running Steady Aim.

| Mod | Effect |
|---|---|
| Amalgam Serration | +155% Damage and +25% Sprint Speed at max rank. Flat damage, no ramp-up condition like the Galvanized mods below. |
| Galvanized Chamber | +80% Multishot at max rank. A kill with a multishot proc adds another +30% Multishot for 20 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. |
| Critical Delay | +200% Critical Chance at max rank, for -20% Fire Rate. The fire rate hit is easy to live with since crit chance is what carries this build. |
| Galvanized Scope | A headshot while aiming grants +120% Critical Chance for 12 seconds. A headshot kill while aiming adds another +40% for 12 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. |
| Vital Sense | +120% Critical Damage at max rank. Flat multiplier, no conditions attached. |
| Primed Shred | +55% Fire Rate and +2.2 Punch Through at max rank. The punch-through helps Incarnon Form’s hitscan shots connect with more than one enemy. |
| Primed Cryo Rounds | +165% Cold Damage at max rank. Half of the Viral combo with Malignant Force. Rime Rounds (+60% Cold, +60% Status) is the budget swap. |
| Malignant Force | +60% Toxin Damage and +60% Status Chance at max rank. The other half of Viral, which is why the combo is here. |
Exilus slot: Vigilante Supplies is the common pick. It converts secondary ammo pickups into ammo for your other weapon, and stacking Vigilante-named mods across your loadout builds toward a chance to enhance primary critical hits, up to 30% with all six pieces of the set. Stabilizer is the simpler swap if recoil bugs you more than ammo economy.
Arcane: Primary Deadhead. A headshot kill stacks a damage buff up to three times: +120% primary damage for 24 seconds at max rank, plus a flat +30% headshot multiplier and -50% recoil. It rewards the same headshot habit that fills the Incarnon gauge in the first place.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Cheap and fast to get fully built: 25,000 Credits, Mastery Rank 0, no farming required.
- Incarnon Genesis is a straight Platinum purchase now, 120 Plat, instead of a mandatory Steel Path Circuit grind.
- Incarnon Form is a full-auto hitscan weapon with AoE Heat damage on every shot: reliable, low-recoil, ammo-efficient against Steel Path trash and mid-tier bosses.
- High native accuracy and low recoil make it forgiving to build around crit and headshots compared to spray-heavy rifles.
- Riven disposition of 1.35 is near the top of the scale, so a good roll can punch well above the weapon’s base tier.
Cons
- The base, non-Incarnon form is mediocre: 24 damage, low crit and status, and it falls off hard on higher-level Steel Path without the adapter.
- Tier-list consensus as of September 2026 puts it at a solid A-tier, not top of meta. Torid, Latron, and Dual Toxocyst Incarnons are cited as outperforming it at true endgame.
- Incarnon Form’s AoE radius is small, around 3 meters, with a damage falloff curve, so it isn’t a room-clearing option the way some other Incarnon rifles are.
- It wants a fairly specific build (crit and status hybrid, Viral combo) to actually shine. A generic loadout underperforms.
This is a weapon for players who want a strong Incarnon without the grind. With 120 Platinum you get a reliable, low-recoil hitscan option for Steel Path trash, and one of the easiest builds in the game to put together. Worth the buy-in.
Players chasing the actual top of the meta should look at Torid or Latron instead. The Braton is a great baseline, not the ceiling.
