Build it if you’ve got Steel Path Circuit access or 120 spare Platinum. Skip it if you’re hunting a top-tier Incarnon. Direct hits in Incarnon Form barely scratch anything, and the fire rate is capped on purpose to match its own explosion timer. That’s why Sportskeeda parks it at B-tier. Still a cheap AoE Heat weapon with the single highest Riven disposition in the game, and a good roll covers for a lot.
Landing 30 weakpoint hits fills the Incarnon gauge. Tapping alt-fire then swaps Gorgon into a slow charge mode that embeds a shot on impact and detonates 1.1 seconds later for 750 Heat damage across a 5m radius with almost no falloff, plus a forced Heat proc that stacks on top of whatever Heat you’ve modded in.
Gorgon has been around since Warframe’s earliest years. It sold on the in-game Market until DE pulled it from sale back in 2013, and it’s been a farmable Grineer drop ever since, mostly forgotten until Incarnon Genesis gave it a second act in Update 43.
On its own it’s a hitscan, Impact-heavy auto rifle with a big magazine and a short wind-up before it hits full fire rate, built for sustained fire rather than burst damage. The Incarnon adapter changes the math for a few seconds at a time, turning normal fire into a setup phase for that AoE blast.
Here’s the current Prisma Gorgon Incarnon build in action:
How to get the Gorgon
The base Gorgon isn’t sold on the Market at all, so you’re farming an old-school blueprint drop, then building it in the Foundry.
- Hit Mastery Rank 3. No build cost, just the rank gate.
- Farm the blueprint from Grineer Heavy Gunners, Arid Heavy Gunners, Grineer Wardens, Gokstad Officers, or Corrupted Heavy Gunners. Drop rate is roughly 1%, so budget for a grind.
- Build it in the Foundry. Cost: 25,000 Credits, 5 Morphics, 5,000 Ferrite, 6,000 Salvage, 1,000 Circuits, 12-hour timer, or rush it with Platinum.
The finished Gorgon can’t be traded. That’s true of the blueprint drop too, so there’s no shortcut through the trade chat.
The Incarnon Genesis adapter is a separate unlock, and it works on all three Gorgon variants.
- Unlock The Duviri Paradox, Angels of the Zariman, and Steel Path.
- Earn the Gorgon Incarnon Genesis from Steel Path Circuit rewards when it’s in the weekly rotation (check the current offering in-game, it cycles), or buy it once from Cavalero in the Chrysalith. Cost if bought: 120 Platinum, install resources included.
- Install it at Cavalero. Cost: 20 Pathos Clamps, 60 Rune Marrow, 60 Tasoma Extract.
- Clear the weapon’s 4 Evolution challenges in mission to unlock its full Incarnon kit.
Two collector variants use the same adapter if you’d rather skip the base grind. Gorgon Wraith needs Mastery Rank 7 and drops from the seasonal Razorback Armada alert at roughly a 19% part rate, with parts that trade freely. Prisma Gorgon needs Mastery Rank 11 and comes from Baro Ki’Teer for 50,000 Credits and 600 Ducats when he’s carrying it, though his inventory rotates, so check what he’s actually selling this visit.

Gorgon’s Riven disposition sits at 5 stars, a 1.40x multiplier, the highest possible tier in the game. A well-rolled Riven does more for this weapon than for almost anything else in your loadout.
Builds
This build leans fully into the Incarnon blast instead of pretending the direct hit matters. Heat lands twice on every detonation, a forced proc plus your own modded element, so the slots stack Heat and crit rather than splitting across damage types. An older normal-fire build built around Hunter Munitions and Viral still circulates too, so treat this as the current-patch pick, not the only one.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Highest possible Riven disposition in the game, 5 stars at 1.40x on base Gorgon. A good Riven meaningfully multiplies otherwise middling output.
- The Incarnon blast has almost no damage falloff across its full 5m radius, and it double dips Heat: a forced proc and a moddable element on the same hit.
- Cheap and Platinum-free to acquire the base weapon. Just a blueprint drop plus credits and resources, no boss key or trading required.
- A big magazine, deep ammo pool, and high fire rate make it a solid suppressive-fire weapon even outside Incarnon mode.
- Incarnon Genesis is free from the Steel Path Circuit, or a one-time 120 Platinum buy. It covers three variants, so budget and veteran players both have an entry point.
Cons
- Direct Incarnon-mode hits do almost nothing. Weaker per shot than a base Burston. Single-target scaling is close to zero, and Condition Overload, Acuity headshot, and Deadhead synergies are off the table.
- DE tuned the fire rate to exactly match the 0.8 to 1.1 second embed and explosion delay, so it can’t stack multiple blasts or outrun its own timer. No amount of modding fixes that ceiling.
- The Evolution talents are underwhelming next to other Incarnon weapons’ build-defining picks.
- The base blueprint has only a roughly 1% drop chance and can’t be bought outright. It’s been delisted from the Market since 2013, so the base copy can be a genuine grind.
- Gorgon sits at B-tier. Outclassed in crowd clear, single-target, and ease of use by SS and S-tier Incarnons like Torid, Latron, and Burston.
Gorgon fits a player who already has Steel Path Circuit access and wants a cheap AoE Heat weapon without spending Platinum chasing a build elsewhere. It’s not the pick if you’re optimizing for single-target damage or fast clears. Torid and Latron do that job better.
If you’re sitting on a strong Gorgon Riven roll, though, that 1.40x disposition ceiling is real, and it’s the one thing separating this weapon from the rest of B-tier.
