Best Focus School in Warframe (2026): Zenurik, Madurai, Unairu, Naramon, Vazarin

Zenurik first, Madurai for Eidolons, unbind the way-bounds

Last Updated on September 11, 2026

The short answer

Start with Zenurik: Wellspring energy helps every frame you will ever play. Unbind its two way-bound passives, then farm Madurai for Void Strike and the Amp passives if you hunt Eidolons, or Unairu for armor strip and Steel Path survivability. Naramon is for melee, Vazarin for support. Void Cascade on the Zariman and Eidolon shards are the fastest Focus in the game.

SchoolBest forPick order
ZenurikEnergy for any frame; Wellspring, Void Siphon, Void Flow1
UnairuArmor and shield strip, Steel Path tankiness; Caustic Strike, Magnetic Flare2
MaduraiDamage and Eidolon hunting; Void Strike, Inner Gaze, Eternal Gaze3
NaramonMelee combo retention and mobility; Power Spike, Void Levitation4
VazarinHealing, instant revives, squad protection; Guardian Shell, Mending Soul5

What you need first

RequirementWhy
The Second DreamUnlocks the Operator and the first Focus school choice.
The War WithinFull Operator kit: Void Mode, Amps from the Quills, every school open to buy into.
A Lens on ranked gearFocus only comes from Affinity earned by fully ranked weapons and frames with a Lens installed.

Each school in one line

  • Zenurik: Wellspring drops an energy pool for the squad; Temporal Drag slows a room; the way-bounds raise Operator energy and regen.
  • Unairu: Poise makes you immune to knockdown after Transference; Caustic Strike strips armor; Magnetic Flare shuts down shields; Vengeance boosts Operator damage.
  • Madurai: Void Strike burns Operator energy for a huge damage buff; the way-bounds raise Amp energy and regen, which is the whole Eidolon game.
  • Naramon: Power Spike stops the melee combo from resetting; Void Levitation lifts enemies; the way-bounds add Sling distance and speed.
  • Vazarin: Guardian Shell shields allies; Void Snare pulls and heals; Mending Soul makes the first revives instant.

The order that pays off fastest

  1. Pick Zenurik at The Second Dream and unlock Wellspring first.
  2. Max and unbind Void Siphon and Void Flow: each costs the maxed node, 750,000 Focus and a Brilliant Eidolon Shard, and then works in every school.
  3. Put a Lens on the weapon or frame you use most so Focus builds during normal play; Lua Lens is best, Eidolon Lens next.
  4. Grab every Convergence orb you see; it multiplies Focus gain for its duration.
  5. Switch active school by activity once the way-bounds are unbound: Madurai for Eidolons, Unairu for Steel Path, Zenurik for everything else.
  6. Unbind Madurai's Inner Gaze and Eternal Gaze next if you hunt, Unairu's Vengeance if you run endurance.

Tips that save runs

  • Way-bounds carry across every school once unbound. They are the long-term value; basic nodes are the short-term one.
  • A Lens on unranked gear does nothing. Rank the item to 30 (40 for frames with Forma) first.
  • The old passive energy regen is gone; Wellspring is an active cast, so use it.
  • Budget one Brilliant Eidolon Shard per way-bound; that is why hunters unbind faster.

Mistakes that waste runs

  • Spreading Focus across four schools before unbinding a single way-bound.
  • Skipping Convergence orbs because they spawn behind you.
  • Putting a Lua Lens on a Warframe you level once and shelve.
  • Running Madurai everywhere because a tier list said damage; Zenurik does more for most builds.

Operator setup that goes with it

  • General Amp: Shwaak or Raplak prism, Shraksun scaffold, Certus brace. Eidolons: the same x27 build with Madurai active.
  • Magus Lockdown (Little Duck, Vox Solaris) tethers a crowd on every Void Sling; the one Operator arcane everyone runs.
  • Magus Elevate heals your frame when you transfer back; Magus Repair heals the squad while you sit in Void Mode.
  • Virtuos Shadow adds Amp crit on headshots; Eternal Onslaught (Cavalero) turns an empty energy bar into Amp crit.
  • Void Sling is the Operator dash; Focus, Amps and Void Mode are Operator only, the Drifter is for Duviri.
