Bungie released the latest Destiny 2 Major 2 3.2.0 update, which introduces tweaks, fixes, buffs, nerfs, and most importantly, the brand new season for the game, Season of the Splicer.
This season introduces a range of new weapons, armor, gear, and skins for new and old players to enjoy. The balances and glitch fixes have also helped improve the quality of life of the game.
With that said, let’s jump right in and look at these brand-new changes.
New Splicer Exotic Weapons
Exotic weapons are back in Destiny 2—and they just got a whole lot better! For those unaware, Exotic weapons are gold-encrusted, high-tier weapons that drop in the game. They’re incredibly rare though, but that’s precisely what makes them so special and sought after.
For the latest season in Destiny 2, there are two new exotic weapons that players can play around with within the game. And if you’re interested, there’s also a full list of Season of the Splicer weapons that range from Legendary to the premium Exotic classes.
Cryosthesis 77k
The great thing about this new Exotic Sidearm is that getting it doesn’t take too much RNG at all. If you have the premium version of the game, you can receive this gun instantly in-game. If you’re playing on the free version, you’ll need to reach Level 35 of the Season Pass to get this gun.
There are few unique traits about this weapon. First is its unique ability Liquid Cooling, which freeze’s an enemy in its tracks in exchange for this sidearm’s magazine of ammo. Then there’s also the unique LN2 Burst which allows you to shoot a charged shot with this pistol. This grants you versatility on the battlefield, provided you have the quick wits to juggle between these two abilities of course.
Vex Mythoclast
The Vex Mythoclast is much rarer to come across, available only as a Vault of Glass final encounter drop. But be warned, this Rifle is much much more potent than most other Fusion rifles.
The unique thing about the Vex Mythoclast is its resemblance to the auto rifle when firing, which makes shooting targets much faster. On top of that, you’ll still be getting Fusion-rifle perks on your armor, which no auto rifle can boast.
New Splicer Exotic Armor
Three Exotic armors have been released this season, and even more for legendary armors. Here’s a list of the best Armor in Season of the Splicer. Let’s take a look.
Star-Eater Scales – Hunter
When worn, you gain more Super Energy when picking up Orbs of Power. You overcharge your Super when you pick up an Orb of Power with a fully charged Super. With this extra Super, you gain more healing and additional Damage to your Super.
The Path of the Burning Steps – Titan
When worn, you minimize the status effects of Stasis and Freeze. Once your Titan Guardian gets freed from the status conditions, they won’t receive any damage either. You also get a 20% Damage increase when you kill an enemy using a Solar weapon.
Boots of the Assembler – Warlock
When worn and when standing on a healing rift, you make Noble Seekers that heal allies outside the circle. When you’re on an empowering rift, you increase the damage output of you and your allies inside the rift. Additionally, you also increase the duration of the empowering rift when your Noble Seekers spot an ally standing outside it.
New Splicer Weapon Buffs
Here are the weapon buffs that each weapon class has received this new season:
- Precision Auto Rifles have increased damage per bullet from 17 -> 18.
- Linear Fusion Rifles have increased precision damage by 15%
- LF Rifles have increased reserve ammo by 20%
Other weapons that have been buffed include the Exotic weapon Hawkmoon. Buffs have also been recorded for the Subsistence, the Dragonfly, Sympathetic Arsenal, Celerity, Bottomless Grief, and Unrelenting.
New Splicer Weapon Nerfs
- Fusion Rifles have an increased falloff start distance for Fusion Rifles, at +2m on 0 range stat.
Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer Update Adjustments
Crystals and Duskfields are easier to find with the newly added colorblind support when using Stasis abilities.
Destiny 2 Class tweaks
- Hunters have a nerfed Silence & Squall ability’s detonation radius to 8.5 meters from 12 meters.
- Titans have a buffed effect when Glacial Quake ends, you’ll replenish the Shiver Strike melee energy.
- Warlocks have a buffed effect with Shadebinder, where Bleak Watcher Aspect grants two fragment slots now. Chaos Reach glitch has also been fixed where it penetrates through walls to damage opponents on the other side.
Destiny 2 H.E.L.M. Update
H.E.L.M. now appears at the Director Destinations tab instead of the Towers tab.
When the Prismatic Recaster focuses the Umbral Engrams, it auto-decrypts. There has also been a Prismatic Recaster update where the visual clutter has been reduced
Glory, Valor, and Infamy
There have also been updates for these maps to prepare for Season 15. Rank reputation tracking for Glory and Valor has been further divided to gain additional sub-ranks (Brave I, II, III) alongside Infamy. (since before that, there were only Major ranks)
These sub-ranks are now called Ranks. Infamy win streak bonus now gives a fixed +35 points per win; while a Glory win streak gives a fixed +20 points per win.
World’s First Race
Started May 22, Season of the Splicer will host a World’s First Race. It’s a PVE where the first team to complete the raid of the Vault of Glass in Challenge Mode and claim the Tempo’s Edge Triumph will be declared the winner.
The Fireteam must loot the final chest to be able to claim the Triumph found in the Orbit. If they don’t fulfill that request, their finish will not be recorded.
Test everything and play the latest season of Destiny 2 on PlayStation 4, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, Stadia, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
