Necramech Guide (2026): How to Get One, Voidrig vs Bonewidow
Voidrig first, Bonewidow second, and where a mech is allowed
Last Updated on September 11, 2026
The short answer
Build Voidrig first. Rank Necraloid to Modus with Loid, buy the blueprint, get the four parts from Isolation Vault guardians (or buy the damaged versions from Father), and you have a mech that carries Isolation Vaults and Orphix missions with the free Mausolon. Bonewidow is the tankier melee mech; build it second.

| Need | Where |
|---|---|
| Voidrig blueprint | Loid in the Necralisk, Necraloid rank 2 (Clearance: Modus) |
| Bonewidow blueprint | Loid, Necraloid rank 3 (Clearance: Odima) |
| The four parts | Necramech guardians inside Isolation Vaults, or damaged parts from Father for standing |
| Necraloid standing | Orokin Matrices found in Isolation Vaults, handed to Loid |
| Mods | Loid’s Necraloid offerings and Isolation Vault bounty rewards |
Table of Contents
What you need first
| Requirement | Why |
|---|---|
| Heart of Deimos quest | Opens the Necralisk hub and Loid's Necraloid syndicate. |
| The War Within (Operator) | You pilot a mech through Transference, so you need your Operator. |
| Necraloid standing with Loid | Ranks Agnesis, Modus and Odima gate the component and main blueprints. |
| Isolation Vault bounties (Mother, Cambion Drift) | The Necramech guarding each vault drops the parts; the vaults also hold the Orokin Matrices for standing. |
How to get your first Necramech
- Finish Heart of Deimos, then talk to Loid in the Necralisk to open the Necraloid syndicate.
- Run Isolation Vault bounties and hand the Orokin Matrices you find to Loid for Necraloid standing.
- Rank 1 (Agnesis) sells the component blueprints; rank 2 (Modus) sells the Voidrig main blueprint; rank 3 (Odima) sells Bonewidow.
- Kill the Necramech guarding each vault. It drops a damaged Casing, Engine, Pod or Weapon Pod, with the same odds in every vault tier.
- Slow drops? Father in the Necralisk sells the damaged parts for standing.
- Build the four components in the Foundry (12 hours each), then the mech itself (72 hours).
- Put an Orokin Reactor in it before you Forma; a mech uses the same reactor as a Warframe.
- Check you have a free Necramech slot before you claim it.
- It arrives with the Mausolon Arch-gun already installed and Gravimag-fitted.
- Level it in Isolation Vaults or Railjack Orphix missions; mech affinity is separate from your Warframe.
Voidrig vs Bonewidow: abilities
| Slot | Voidrig | Bonewidow |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Necraweb: a canister that explodes and slows everything nearby | Meathook: skewer an enemy for damage over time and lifesteal, or throw it |
| 2 | Storm Shroud: an energy barrier that absorbs and reflects damage | Shield Maiden: a shield that blocks and reflects damage |
| 3 | Gravemines: mines scattered around you that detonate on contact | Firing Line: two converging beams that group and lift enemies |
| 4 | Guard Mode: lock in place and fire the Arquebex twin mortar | Exalted Ironbride: draw the moddable Archmelee greatsword |
| Verdict | Cheaper to unlock, easier to level, more damage | Tankier, better sustain, wants melee mods |
Where a Necramech is allowed
- Isolation Vaults and the rest of Cambion Drift: its home; you need one to fight the vault guardian.
- Plains of Eidolon and Orb Vallis: any free roam or bounty, including Profit-Taker, where you can summon it mid-fight.
- Orphix missions in Railjack: close to mandatory, since the Orphix pulse disables Warframes but not mechs.
- Railjack ground tilesets once your Tactical Intrinsic is high enough to deploy one.
- Netracells give a short summon window through a hackable terminal; Deep Archimedea only when a modifier allows it.
- Everywhere else (Exterminate, Survival, Defense, Disruption, Archon Hunts) the gear item is greyed out.
The two Necramechs
| Frame | Role | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Voidrig | Build first | Ranged artillery. Guard Mode drops it in place and hands you the Arquebex, the hardest-hitting gun a player can hold. |
| Bonewidow | Melee tank | Lifesteal hook, a shield that reflects, and the Ironbride greatsword; slower to kill with, harder to kill. |
Best Arch-guns for a mech
| Weapon | Why |
|---|---|
| Mausolon | Comes pre-installed with Gravimag; rifle fire plus a charged explosive shot that clears rooms. |
| Kuva Ayanga | Automatic grenades with a big blast; the most popular mech gun after the Mausolon. |
| Cyngas | High status and fire rate for sustained damage in Orphix and Profit-Taker fights. |
| Fluctus | A horizontal wave with infinite punch-through and high crit; the easiest Arch-gun to aim. |
Necramech mods that matter

Tips that save runs
- Arch-gun affinity only counts while the gun is on the mech, so level the Mausolon inside a vault bounty.
- Necramech Repair is the panic button: it heals you back up when health drops low, which is exactly when the vault guardian one-shots you.
- Storm Shroud has to be refreshed before it drops; let it lapse and Voidrig eats full damage.
- Bonewidow's Ironbride takes normal Archmelee mods; Voidrig's arm swipe cannot be modded at all.
- Vault drops are not tier-locked: the tier 1 vault drops the same parts as tier 3.
- The Market bundle (mech, reactor, slot) skips the grind if standing or time is the bottleneck, but only spend if the mech is your bottleneck too.
Mistakes that waste runs
- Forma before the Orokin Reactor, which wastes the early polarity.
- Trying to buy Bonewidow at rank 2; it is a rank 3 (Odima) blueprint.
- Bringing a mech into a normal tileset mission and wondering why the gear item is greyed out.
- Farming one vault tier for one specific part; every tier drops every part.
