Build it, this is one of the best Kuva archguns available and a top pick for ground heavy-weapon play. Its highest-in-class crit chance and wall-penetrating explosions carry it, but the self-stagger on close explosions punishes sloppy positioning.
Grenades arc toward the target and explode in a 6 meter radius (9 meters in Archwing) that does not need direct line of sight, hitting enemies through walls. Exploding too close to yourself causes a self-stagger instead of self-damage.
The Kuva Ayanga is the Lich variant of the Ayanga archgun, firing arcing explosive grenades that deal primarily Blast damage and carries the highest crit chance of the Kuva archguns in this lineup.
It stays a top pick in 2026 because its explosions penetrate walls and terrain without needing line of sight, letting a Gravimag-equipped ground build clear entrenched enemies other weapons cannot reach.
Community tier lists regularly place it among the best Kuva weapons not just among archguns, largely due to its high crit stats and consistent AOE damage.
How to get the Kuva Ayanga
- Finish The War Within and reach Mastery Rank 5.
- Run any Grineer mission at level 20 or higher. When the lights flicker yellow, kill fast and a Kuva Larvling drops.
- Walk up to the Larvling and read the weapon it shows. If it is not the Kuva Ayanga, leave it alive and run another mission.
- Mercy-kill it with the Warframe whose progenitor element you want; that frame sets the bonus element on the weapon.
- Hunt the Lich: clear its nodes for Requiem murmurs, stab it with the Requiem mods in the right order, and vanquish it in the Railjack showdown on Saturn Proxima.
- The Kuva Ayanga lands in your Foundry inbox with a 25 to 60 percent bonus of that element.
- Install a Gravimag on it and bring it into ground missions with the Archgun Deployer gear item, or mount it on a Necramech.
Fuse a second copy with Valence Fusion to push the bonus to 60 percent and choose the element you keep. Converted Liches trade in a Clan Dojo, so a Toxin or Magnetic copy can be bought. Rank 40 with five Forma.
Stats
| Class | Arch-Gun |
|---|---|
| Mastery Rank | 13 |
| Trigger | AUTO |
| Noise | Alarming |
| Fire Rate | 4.58 |
| Accuracy | 25 |
| Magazine | 33 |
| Reload | 1.2 s |
| Critical Chance | 35% |
| Critical Multiplier | 2x |
| Status Chance | 20% |
| Riven Disposition | (0.95) |
| Damage | 274 total |
|---|---|
| Impact | 87 |
| Blast | 187 |
Riven disposition is 0.95, close to neutral, so rivens roll at a fair rate and are reasonably worth chasing if aiming to push crit damage even higher on an already crit-heavy weapon.
Builds
Build around its high base crit chance: prioritize crit chance and crit multiplier mods first since the 35 percent base crit chance is the highest of the Kuva archguns, then add multishot and elemental mods for extra AOE status coverage. Keep some distance in mind since explosions self-stagger at close range.

Archgun
| Mod | Why it’s here |
|---|---|
| Rubedo-Lined Barrel | Base Archgun damage mod, up to 100 percent more damage at max rank. |
| Automatic Trigger | Increases Archgun fire rate for faster follow-up grenades on groups. |
| Parallax Scope | Flat Archgun crit chance mod, pushing the Ayanga’s already-high 35 percent base crit chance toward the cap. |
| Hollowed Bullets | Flat Archgun crit multiplier mod that makes those frequent crits hit much harder. |
| Dual Rounds | Archgun multishot mod, adding extra grenades per shot for more coverage and status procs. |
| Magma Chamber | Adds Heat damage and status chance, layering onto the innate Blast and Impact damage. |
| Charged Bullets | Adds Electricity damage and status chance, combining with Magma Chamber’s Heat to form Radiation. |
| Ammo Chain | Increases max ammo, important since the fast follow-up shots burn through the magazine in atmosphere play. |
Archguns take one Primary and one Secondary arcane once an Archgun Arcane Adapter opens the slots (Deepmines bounties, Nightcap in the Fortuna Airlock, or the Market). Primary Merciless in the first slot and Secondary Merciless in the second; skip both until the adapter is cheap for you.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Highest crit chance of the Kuva archguns in this lineup
- Explosions hit through walls without needing line of sight
- Strong all-around Blast damage good against groups and armored targets
- Doubled ammo regen in Archwing or Necramech modes
Cons
- Self-stagger risk if grenades explode too close to the player
- Requires a Gravimag before it can be used on the ground
- Arcing grenade travel time makes it less reliable at very close range than hitscan weapons
A strong, arguably top-shelf pick for players who want a crit-heavy archgun that clears rooms through cover. Worth farming a Lich for, not just a fallback for a leftover roll.
