Build it. Straight upgrade over base Steflos in every column that matters: 480 damage against 320, 18% crit against 14%, 28% status against 22%, the falloff floor pushed from 16m to 24m, and it’s free from relics. The only reason to skip it is the disposition drop, 1.25x down to 0.50x, which guts any Steflos Riven you already own.
Steflos Prime doesn’t fire pellets. It fires one roughly 2m-thick energy projectile with infinite body punch through, and every enemy it passes through extends its lifespan by 50%, up to 10 seconds, so a shot that starts by clipping one Grineer can end up crossing a whole corridor. In Citrine’s hands, Prime or not, it also gains 40% projectile speed.
Steflos Prime is Citrine Prime’s signature shotgun, released with Update 44 on September 23, 2026. Semi-auto, 12 in the magazine, zero spread, primarily Heat damage.
Calling it a shotgun undersells how it plays. It uses shotgun mods, but it behaves like a slow, fat beam that keeps going as long as it keeps hitting things.

How to get the Steflos Prime
Needs Mastery Rank 15. Four relics, all in rotation right now. Parts and blueprints are tradable, the built weapon is not.
| Part | Relic | Rarity |
|---|---|---|
| Blueprint | Neo Y2 | Uncommon |
| Barrel | Axi S21 | Rare |
| Receiver | Lith A13 | Common |
| Stock | Meso D9 | Uncommon |
- Farm Axi S21 first. Eris/Xini Interception rotation B or C, 14.29% per qualifying roll.
- Neo Y2 off Lua/Apollo Disruption rotation A, Lith A13 off any Spy rotation B, Meso D9 off Mars/Olympus Disruption rotation C.
- Take Axi S21 to Radiant. 100 Void Traces moves the Barrel from 2% to 10%.
- Build costs 15,000 credits, 1 Orokin Cell and the three parts, 12 hours.
Full tables for all eleven relics are on the Citrine Prime relic page. Buying Citrine Prime Access skips the whole thing.

| Riven Disposition | (0.5)Riven disposition 1 of 5 (0.50): a Riven mod rolls 50% weaker than the 1.00 baseline on this weapon. Digital Extremes sets one dot on the weapons players use most, so a Riven adds the least here. The dots measure how much a Riven helps, not how good the weapon is, and DE re-tunes them with every Prime Access. How Rivens work · The full disposition list |
| Damage | 480 total |
|---|---|
| Impact | 195 |
| Heat | 285 |
480 damage splits 195 Impact and 285 Heat. Full damage inside 8m, then a linear slide to 3.125% at 24m, so this is a mid-range gun that punishes you for sniping with it. Projectile speed mods extend that window because the falloff is measured on the projectile.
Riven disposition is 0.50x, one dot out of five, sharing the Steflos family. If you rolled a Steflos Riven when base Steflos sat at 1.25x, that roll is now worth a lot less on either version.
Builds
Innate Heat is already 59% of its damage, so the build adds Corrosive on top rather than overwriting what’s there. Status chance is the scaling stat, not crit.

| Mod | Effect |
|---|---|
| Primed Point Blank | +165% Damage |
| Galvanized Hell | +110% Multishot; on kill, +30% Multishot for 20s, stacking up to 4 times |
| Galvanized Savvy | +80% Status Chance; on kill, +40% direct damage per status type on the target for 20s, stacking up to 2 times |
| Blaze | +60% Damage, +60% Heat |
| Vicious Spread | +90% Damage, -60% Accuracy |
| Primed Charged Shell | +165% Electricity |
| Contagious Spread | +90% Toxin |
| Primed Ravage | +110% Critical Damage |
Vicious Spread is close to a free 90% damage here. Its downside is an accuracy penalty, and Steflos Prime fires a single projectile at 0.00 degrees of spread. There is nothing for the penalty to degrade.
Charged Shell is Electricity, not Heat, which is the point. Paired with Contagious Spread’s Toxin it makes Corrosive, and the weapon’s native Heat stays separate. You end up applying Corrosive and Heat at once, which is the combination that actually chews Grineer armour.
Arcane slot: Primary Merciless. Primary Deadhead is the alternative if you’re using the growing projectile to line up headshots down a corridor.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Better than base Steflos on damage, crit, status, polarities and falloff distance, with nothing traded away except disposition.
- Infinite body punch through and a 2m-thick projectile, so it hits whole lines of enemies without a punch through mod.
- Every enemy it passes through extends the projectile’s life by 50%, up to 10 seconds.
- Zero spread, which makes Vicious Spread a nearly costless damage mod.
- Farmable free from four relics that are all in rotation, and the parts are tradable.
Cons
- Riven disposition dropped the whole Steflos family to 0.50x, one dot out of five.
- Damage falls to 3.125% past 24m. This is not a ranged weapon.
- Base range is about 12m before projectile speed mods extend it.
- 36 ammo max and 15 per pickup, the tightest reserve of any shotgun in its class.
- The innate punch through skips surfaces if the middle of the projectile hits a wall, so you still need a punch through mod to shoot through cover.
If you run Citrine, this and her 40% projectile speed bonus were designed together and it shows. If you don’t, it’s still one of the better mid-range status primaries in the game and it costs four relics. The people who should genuinely hesitate are the ones sitting on a good Steflos Riven, because that roll just lost most of its value.
