Latron Prime

Build and guide

Build it: its Incarnon Form turns this crit-heavy Puncture rifle into an armor-stripping, chain-exploding burst weapon that holds up in Steel Path. It’s vaulted with a slow reload, so getting it takes trading or a Prime Resurgence wait, and missed shots get punished hard.

Unique trait: Incarnon Form: Ricochet Rounds

Landing 8 weakpoint hits fills the Incarnon Transmutation gauge and swaps in a 40-round Incarnon magazine that fires explosive rounds, ricocheting and detonating up to 6 times per shot. Flensing Spikes then strips 20% enemy armor per Puncture status stack, turning it from a single-target sniper into an armor-stripping burst rifle.

Latron Prime is a Tenno-era semi-auto Puncture rifle that hit 72 damage per shot with a strong crit base long before Incarnon existed, and in 2026 its Incarnon Genesis adapter adds armor-stripping, chaining explosive rounds that keep it relevant in Steel Path.

How to get the Latron Prime

  1. Latron Prime is currently vaulted; its relics do not drop from regular mission rewards right now.
  2. Check Varzia for a Prime Resurgence rotation and buy the Latron Prime relic bundle or finished weapon with Aya or Regal Aya.
  3. Alternative: buy built parts or relics from other players through trading (trade chat, Warframe Market) for Platinum.
  4. If it unvaults into standard drop tables later, check the in-game relic screen for the exact Lith/Meso/Neo/Axi relics rather than trusting a fan-site list, then crack them in Void Fissure missions with a squad.
  5. Build each part plus the receiver in the Foundry, then build the weapon itself, and slot an Orokin Catalyst before ranking it up.
  6. For Incarnon: finish The Duviri Paradox and Angels of the Zariman quests, then unlock Steel Path.
  7. Run the Steel Path Circuit until the Latron Incarnon Genesis adapter comes up as a reward, or buy it once from Cavalero in the Chrysalith for 120 Platinum.
  8. Install the adapter through Cavalero with 20 Pathos Clamps, 60 Rune Marrow, and 20 Maw Fangs, then complete the in-game evolution challenges to unlock all perks including Flensing Spikes.

Latron Prime’s parts trade between players for Platinum even while it’s vaulted, and the Incarnon adapter (Latron Incarnon Genesis) is shared across Latron, Latron Wraith, and Latron Prime, so it only needs to be earned or bought once per account.

Builds

With 22% crit chance, a 2.8x multiplier, and 26% status, Latron Prime is hybrid on paper, but a crit-primary build outscales status once Puncture procs feed Flensing Spikes armor strip. Run Point Strike, Vital Sense, and Galvanized Chamber with multishot stacked for both the base weapon and the Incarnon Form’s chaining explosions.

ModWhy it’s here
SerrationFlat damage foundation that every crit and status multiplier on this build scales off of.
Point StrikePushes the weapon’s already-solid 22% base crit chance further into reliable crit territory.
Vital SenseCrit damage scales hardest on a weapon that already rolls a 2.8x multiplier.
Galvanized ChamberAdds multishot and stacks extra crit chance per kill, letting the weapon snowball through longer Steel Path fights.
Critical DelayFlat crit chance is efficient here since the base 22% is already past the point where it pays off.
Hammer ShotAdds crit damage and status chance together, keeping Puncture procs landing to feed the Flensing Spikes armor strip.
Vigilante ArmamentsExtra multishot on top of Galvanized Chamber means more pellets rolling for crits and status per trigger pull.
Thermite RoundsAdds a Heat proc for armor strip and scaling damage over time alongside the weapon’s native Puncture and Slash.

Primary Merciless is best-in-slot for its stacking burst crit damage buff; Primary Deadhead is the cheaper, easier-to-farm alternative for stacking crit chance on headshot kills.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High per-shot Puncture damage (72) rewards weakpoint and headshot play
  • Strong native crit stats (22% / 2.8x) for a non-riven-reliant build
  • Incarnon Form adds ricocheting AoE and armor strip, fixing its old single-target-only weakness
  • MR10 requirement keeps it accessible mid-progression
  • 1.3 riven disposition leaves room to push further if wanted

Cons

  • Vaulted, so getting the base weapon means trading, Platinum, or waiting on a Prime Resurgence rotation
  • Slow 2.4s reload and small 15-round magazine punish missed shots
  • Semi-auto trigger caps raw fire rate outside of Incarnon Form
  • Incarnon adapter itself requires Duviri, Zariman, and Steel Path Circuit progress (or a Platinum buyout)

This is for players who like semi-auto snap-firing, are willing to trade or farm for a vaulted Prime, and want a crit-leaning Puncture rifle that performs in Steel Path without needing a riven.
