Build it. Base Latron runs 225 platinum, or skip the wallet and craft the cheap Blueprint instead. Its Incarnon form sits in the same bracket as Torid and Dual Toxocyst on the current primary lists. The catch isn’t the gun, it’s the unlock: two quests, a Steel Path clear, and a Circuit rotation you might be waiting weeks to see.
Incarnon mode swaps the Latron’s hitscan shots for physical projectiles. They ricochet off enemies and terrain up to six times, exploding in a 4-meter radius on each bounce for Puncture and Heat damage. One trigger pull can clear a hallway.
The Latron is Warframe’s original semi-auto marksman rifle. It’s sat mostly forgotten since 2013. Update 43 doesn’t touch its base stats at all. What changes is everything that happens once you slot in the Incarnon Genesis adapter.
Two independent September 2026 tier lists put it near the top of the pile. AxeeTech ranks it SS tier, citing its stopping power and built-in armor strip. Sportskeeda calls it the best primary Incarnon weapon for raw damage, grouped alongside Torid and Dual Toxocyst as the community’s top picks for the year. The two lists disagree on the exact letter grade. Neither disagrees it belongs near the top.
One thing before you go searching for build videos: most of what comes up is built around Latron Prime, not this gun. Latron Prime hits for 90 base damage against this weapon’s 55, needs Mastery Rank 10, and sits vaulted right now, so getting one means trading plat or relics with other players instead of just crafting it outright. Everything below covers the base, MR0 Latron.
How to get the Latron
Buying it outright from the Market costs 225 platinum. Crafting it skips the wallet and costs you time instead: the Blueprint runs 20,000 credits, and the build needs 5 Morphics, 800 Plastids, 1,000 Alloy Plate, and 900 Salvage. Build time is 12 hours, or 35 platinum if you want to rush it. None of this needs any Mastery Rank. It’s available the moment you’re out of the tutorial.
The Incarnon Genesis adapter is the real grind here. You need The Duviri Paradox and Angels of the Zariman finished, plus Steel Path unlocked. Once that’s done, the adapter drops from Steel Path Circuit rotations, but only during the week that also carries Bo, Furis, Furax, and Strun. Miss that week and you’re waiting for it to cycle back around, which can take a while. Don’t want to wait? Cavalero sells the adapter outright for 120 platinum at the Chrysalith.
Installing it onto the Latron costs 20 Pathos Clamps, 60 Rune Marrow, and 20 Maw Fangs, also through Cavalero. All three drop from Steel Path Circuit and Duviri runs, so budget for more farming even after the adapter’s already in hand.

Riven disposition on base Latron sits at 1.40, five dots. That’s one of the higher tiers in the game right now. A good roll has real room to push crit chance or status past what the mod build below already gets you. Latron Prime carries a different disposition, 1.30, so don’t compare rolls across the two guns.
Builds
This build leans on one quirk. Semi-Rifle Cannonade locks your fire rate to base the moment you equip it, since it only works on the semi-auto trigger. Sounds like a downside. It isn’t, because that locked fire rate cancels out Critical Delay’s -20% fire rate penalty for free, so you keep its +200% critical chance with none of the tradeoff. Stack that against Galvanized Chamber’s on-kill multishot stacks and Hammer Shot’s combined crit and status bonus, and the Incarnon form ends up hitting like a shotgun with sniper-tier crits. For evolution picks, the strongest version takes Riddled Target at tier 2, Extended Volley at tier 3, and Critical Parallel at tier 4. All three push crit chance and multiplier further instead of burning a slot on recoil or zoom.

Rifle
| Mod | What it does |
|---|---|
| Galvanized Chamber | +80% multishot, plus a stacking +30% multishot buff on kill (up to 5 stacks, 20 seconds each). Scales up the longer a fight runs. |
| Semi-Rifle Cannonade | +240% damage and +1.5 punch through. Only works with the semi-auto trigger and locks fire rate to base, which is what cancels out Critical Delay’s fire-rate penalty. |
| Critical Delay | +200% critical chance. Normally costs -20% fire rate, but Cannonade already fixed the fire rate, so that penalty never applies. |
| Vital Sense | +120% critical damage. |
| Hammer Shot | +60% critical damage and +80% status chance in a single mod slot. |
| Rifle Elementalist | +90% status damage and +0.6 punch through. |
| Thermite Rounds | +60% Heat damage and +60% status chance. Heat status procs strip enemy armor over time, which covers this build’s armor strip. |
| Primed Bane of Orokin | x1.55 damage against Orokin-faction enemies specifically. Swap it for the Primed Bane mod matching whatever faction you’re actually fighting, Grineer, Corpus, or Infested. |
| Vigilante Supplies (Exilus) | Converts 30% of secondary ammo pickups into primary ammo. Part of the Vigilante set, which carries a chance to bump a critical hit up a tier when paired with other Vigilante mods. |
Primary Merciless is the consensus arcane pick here, a large conditional damage bonus with a reload speed boost attached. Arcane Rise, Arcane Rage, Arcane Primary Charger, and Arcane Acceleration all show up in build notes too. Treat them as situational swaps, not the default.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- MR0 and cheap to get: 225 platinum, or just basic resources. Its Incarnon form still tops or nearly tops the September 2026 Incarnon primary tier lists.
- Incarnon shots ricochet up to six times and explode in a 4-meter radius on each bounce. One pull covers a room.
- Thermite Rounds and the Flensing Spikes evolution both strip enemy armor on their own. No need to bring a separate strip weapon or frame ability.
- Riven disposition of 1.40, five dots, leaves plenty of headroom if you land a good roll.
- No recoil in Incarnon mode, with crit chance, crit multiplier, and status chance all higher than the weapon’s normal-fire stats.
Cons
- The Genesis unlock needs two quests, a Steel Path clear, and a specific Circuit rotation. Miss it and you’re waiting weeks, or paying 120 platinum to skip the wait.
- Nearly every build guide you find online is actually for Latron Prime (90 base damage, Mastery Rank 10, vaulted), not this weapon.
- Normal mode has to land 8 weakpoint hits before you can even switch into Incarnon mode. That’s slower than a gun that’s automatic from the first trigger pull.
- The SS-tier numbers assume 5 to 7 Forma and mods like Primed Bane of Orokin, which only comes from Baro Ki’Teer. Skip those and the gun still works, just not at that level.
This fits players chasing top-of-meta Incarnon damage without paying plat for a vaulted Prime. It also fits anyone who’s already got Steel Path and Duviri cleared and wants an excuse to run the Circuit again. Want something simple and automatic from the first shot? This isn’t it. The whole point is the charge-then-transmute loop, and you either like that or you don’t.
