The Second Dream Quest Walkthrough (2026): Every Stage, the Focus Choice and What It Unlocks

Five missions, the Stalker, Lua, and the choice that opens the Operator

Last Updated on September 12, 2026

The short answer

The Second Dream is the quest that changes the game: five missions from a Grineer archive on Uranus to the Reservoir on Lua, and at the end you choose a Focus school and meet the Operator. It pays Broken War, the Focus Lens for your school, and Lua itself. The Focus choice is not permanent; every school can be unlocked later, so pick Zenurik for energy or Madurai for damage and move on.

Stage by stage

  1. Infiltrate the Grineer Archives: Umbriel, Uranus: Complete a Spy mission to infiltrate data from the Grineer on Hunhow. Watch: All three data vaults must be successfully hacked.
  2. Find the Sentient Fragment: Cressida, Uranus: Find a Sentient fragment at an Orokin shipwreck site. Watch: The objective is a tunnel closed off by destroyable rocks.
  3. Follow the Stalker: Neso, Neptune: Follow the Stalker through a Void Gate and disable an Orokin Tower. Watch: Destroy four blue vials in the generator room by finding the unprotected panel.
  4. Protect the Moon: Plato, Lua: Stop the Stalker from destroying the Moon by reactivating void compasses and deactivating Pendula. Watch: Trick the Security Eye into shooting the Pendula to destroy them.
  5. Save the Reservoir: Grimaldi, Lua: Carry a person to extraction and then power the Somatic Link while avoiding the Stalker. Watch: The Warframe's mobility is greatly reduced while carrying the person, and you must dodge Stalker's attacks while powering the Somatic Link.

Choices and what they change

  • Focus school: Madurai, Vazarin, Naramon, Unairu or Zenurik. It sets your first lens only; all five can be unlocked with Focus later.

Tips that save runs

  • Zenurik is the safe first pick: energy for every frame. Madurai if you already chase damage. The other three are specialist schools.
  • On Plato, trick the Security Eye into shooting the Pendula; you cannot destroy them yourself.
  • Grimaldi: drop the pod to fight, pick it up to move. The Stalker cannot be killed here.

Mistakes that waste runs

  • Agonising over the school; the lens is one item and Focus is farmable.
  • Selling Broken War; it is a component of War.

What it unlocks

  • Lua and the Operator
  • The Focus system
  • Shadow Stalker replaces the Stalker
  • Rising Tide and The War Within

Where it sits

Before it: Natah. After it: The War Within. The full order is on the quest hub.
