How to Join or Start a Clan in Warframe (2026): Tiers, Dojo, Research and Leaving
Join via invite or recruiting chat, or start a solo Ghost clan

The short answer
You join a clan by invite, usually after asking in Recruiting chat. You can also start your own from the Communication menu, and a solo Ghost tier clan (10 members max) gets you a Dojo, research labs and a Trading Post. Judge a clan by its tier and how active it is, not by its name.

Join, start or leave
- To join: ask in the Recruiting chat tab that you are looking for a clan, or browse clan ads in the Communication menu.
- A member with the Recruiter permission sends the invite. Accept it.
- Forge the Dojo Key from the blueprint you receive. It takes 12 hours.
- To start your own: Pause menu, Communication, Clan, Start Your Own Clan, then type a name.
- To leave: Pause menu, Communication, Clan, right-click your name, Leave Clan, then confirm.
- A Founding Warlord must promote someone else to Warlord before leaving.
What a clan gives you
- A Dojo: a shared base you build room by room, up to 128 rooms.
- Five research labs (Energy, Chem, Tenno, Bio, Orokin) that make weapon, Sentinel and Warframe blueprints without spending Platinum.
- A Trading Post, where the Treasurer sets the clan trade tax.
- An Obstacle Course and a Dry Dock for Railjack.
- Clan chat, plus an Alliance option for linking clans.
Tips that save runs
- Research and room costs multiply by tier, so a solo clan stays at Ghost for the lowest costs.
- A solo clan can still research; Ghost uses the base costs.
- Alliance size is counted in slots: Ghost 10, Shadow 30, Storm 100, Mountain 300, Moon 1,000.
Mistakes that waste runs
- Leaving as Founding Warlord without promoting a replacement. The game will not let you.
- Donating resources to a clan you may leave. Contributions cannot be taken back.
- Emptying a clan by accident. A clan with no members is deleted for good.
