Iron Banner is back, with a 6v6 Crucible event, along with some unique rewards.
What is Iron Banner?
Iron Banner is a season event that resets every week. This means that any progress you make towards the bounties and rewards one week will be reset on Tuesday when the server resets.
The crucible mode is a variant on Control – Your team must keep control of 3 zones for as long as possible in order to accumulate points and win. The zones will however reset after a short time, when they will return to neutral ownership, and you will need to re-take them.
Unlike most crucible matches however, power levels are important, as your gap in power level between you and your opponent will result in more or less damage taken and received proportional to the difference in power level. In short – Gear Matters.
Where do I start?
Lord Saladin is in charge of the Iron Banner process, and he will give you the bounties, rewards and track your progress. See him upstairs to the right of the gunsmith as you enter the Tower.
What weapons are available?
The two weapons that are available as part of the season rewards are:
The Time-Worn Spire and Multimach CCX.
Both weapons have the chance to drop with the new perk “Iron Reach” which will increase the weapons range considerably, at the high cost of stability. The old perks, Iron Grip and Iron Gaze may also be rolled on these weapons. May the roll God smile upon you for good rolls this season!
What are the Currencies?
Iron Banner tokens can be earned by completing an Iron Banner match (5 tokens for a win, and 3 for a loss), and my completing the weekly bounties at 50 tokens per turn-in. Important to note: turning in these bounties also rewards you with Pinnacle Gear as well, greatly helping out with that gear emphasis mentioned earlier.
Seven bounties are available throughout the season, of which four will be available and rearranged every week.
Each bounty rewards: XP + 50 Iron Banner Tokens and Pinnacle Gear
