Astilla Prime

Build and guide

Build it for the guaranteed double status proc per trigger pull, an AoE hit that stacks status twice and punches through walls. Its 21% base crit chance is mediocre and needs heavy mod investment before it pays off.

Unique trait: Slug and Shatter

Each shot fires one glass slug that procs Impact on contact, then explodes in a 2.4m radius for Slash and Puncture damage. The hit and the explosion roll status separately, so one trigger pull can proc twice, and the explosion hits through walls with no line of sight needed.

Astilla Prime is a shotgun-primary that fires single explosive glass slugs instead of a pellet cone, and in 2026 it still matters because that double-hit mechanic makes it one of the most consistent status-stacking primaries around.

How to get the Astilla Prime

  1. Check Varzia in Maroo’s Bazaar or the in-game relic screen first to confirm current relic availability, since vault rotations change and this weapon’s drops are not guaranteed to be farmable right now.
  2. The Astilla Prime Blueprint plus Barrel, Receiver, and Stock Blueprints drop from Lith, Meso, Neo, and Axi Astilla Prime relics; these have been vaulted since March 2023, so expect to trade with other players or buy relics/parts through Warframe trading, or wait for a Prime Resurgence rotation where Varzia sells them for Aya.
  3. Build each component in the Foundry, then build the weapon itself: 20,000 Credits and 10 Orokin Cells, 12-hour craft time (rush with Platinum if wanted).
  4. Optional: equip it on Gara or Gara Prime, her signature frame, for a bonus +80 magazine capacity (192 total ammo) on top of the base loadout.
  5. There is no Incarnon Genesis adapter for this weapon, so skip the Steel Path Circuit / Duviri step entirely for Astilla Prime.

Since the relics are vaulted, the practical routes are trading with other players (parts or a built weapon) or buying relics/the set from Varzia during a Prime Resurgence window with Aya or Regal Aya; there’s no current direct mission farm.

Riven disposition is 1.2, about four of five pips, so a riven is worth grabbing cheap but not worth overpaying for since Galvanized mods already carry the build fine.

Builds

21% base crit chance, a 1.9x multiplier, and 37% status that rolls twice per shot push the 2026 build toward a status-to-crit hybrid, not pure crit or pure status. Stack multishot and status mods to feed Galvanized crit-chance scaling, and add Cold plus Toxin for Viral since Astilla Prime has no innate elemental damage.

ModWhy it’s here
Primed Point BlankFlat damage multiplier that applies to both the slug hit and the explosion, the weapon’s only source of raw physical damage since it has no innate elements.
Galvanized HellHeavy multishot means more slugs land, each rolling its own separate explosion, and kills stack extra multishot for crowd clears.
Primed RavageCrit damage multiplier that only starts mattering once crit chance is pushed up elsewhere, turning the 1.9x base multiplier into real burst.
BlunderbussBase crit chance is a mediocre 21%, and Blunderbuss adds flat crit chance without needing a status trigger to activate.
Galvanized SavvyBuilds on the already-strong 37% status chance and grants bonus direct-hit damage per status type already stacked on the target.
Primed Chilling GraspCold damage and status chance in one slot, and paired with a toxin source it turns the guaranteed double status proc into consistent Viral.
Toxic BarrageToxin damage and status chance that combines with Chilling Grasp for Viral, filling the gap since Astilla Prime carries no elemental damage on its own.
Vicious SpreadAdds flat damage with a spread penalty that barely matters here, since Astilla Prime fires one slug per trigger pull instead of a pellet cone.

Primary Merciless is best-in-slot since its stacking kill damage buff needs no headshots and builds fast off AoE kills, while Primary Deadhead is a cheaper alternative if you land headshots easily, both farmed from Steel Path Acolytes.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Guaranteed double status proc per shot (direct hit plus explosion) makes status builds unusually consistent
  • AoE explosion damages through walls and cover with no line-of-sight requirement
  • Well-rounded 100/91/49 IPS split at MR14 with no exploitable resistance gap
  • Riven disposition of 1.2 is on the higher end, leaving room to min-max without being punished
  • Signature +80 ammo capacity bonus when run on Gara or Gara Prime

Cons

  • Vaulted since March 2023, so acquiring it now means trading or waiting on a Prime Resurgence rotation, not a direct farm
  • Base 21% crit chance is mediocre and needs real mod investment before crits carry the build
  • 24-round magazine against a 4.33 fire rate means frequent reloads in sustained fights
  • No Incarnon Genesis adapter, so it has no free evolution power spike unlike many other 2026-favorite weapons

Astilla Prime is for players who want a status-stacking AoE shotgun-primary that hits through walls and don’t mind hunting vaulted relics to get it.
