Best Warframe for Survival Missions

Last Updated on September 9, 2026

Saryn is the best all-around pick for Survival missions, and it’s not close. Spores clears whole rooms without you re-aiming anything, and Toxic Lash keeps her healed up through hour-long Steel Path runs, so she doesn’t need a babysitter. Nekros is the runner-up if your squad already has damage covered and just needs someone stacking Life Support Pods instead.

Best weapons for Survival

WeaponWhy
ToridIts evolved gas clouds auto-chain status across a whole room and the corrosive/viral proc strips armor without needing headshots, so it keeps scaling as survival spawns get tankier over time.
Ignis WraithA continuous ramping beam that hits every enemy in its cone and, on a corrosive build, strips armor outright, so positioning and armor scaling stop being a problem on long runs.
Kuva NukorIts beam auto-chains to two extra targets and saturates them with viral/corrosive status, giving cheap multi-target priming that keeps armor irrelevant as enemy level climbs.
Glaive PrimeHeavy-attack detonations wipe out entire rooms in one throw and stack enough status to cut through rising armor, making it the standard melee AoE finisher for endless waves.
Kuva ZarrCannon-and-cluster alt-fire blankets crowds in explosive AoE that keeps clearing waves deep into a survival run, though its notoriously heavy ammo drain means it needs an ammo-mutation mod to actually go the distance.

Saryn: the room clears itself

Spores is a self-spreading Toxin proc that scales with enemy level, so it clears a tile without you lifting a finger. Toxic Lash spreads Spores through her melee hits and heals her on contact, and the Regenerative Molt augment keeps that healing coming through hour-long Steel Path runs. She doesn’t need a dedicated support frame holding her hand to stay alive.

Strength: highDuration: lowEfficiency: midRange: high

Budget: Spores alone carries early and mid survival on a barely modded frame. The full hybrid strength-and-range Steel Path build can wait.

Wisp: free healing for the whole squad

One cast of Reservoirs drops motes that hand the whole squad health regen, extra speed, and a shock knockdown. Nobody has to watch anyone’s health bar, and enemies rarely target Wisp first anyway. A team can camp one spot for an hour straight and nobody goes down.

Strength: highDuration: midEfficiency: midRange: high

Budget: A bare Reservoirs cast with no augments and no forma still gives squad-wide healing and speed. She’s playable from the earliest levels.

Revenant: unkillable and barely trying

Mesmer Skin stacks charges of full damage immunity that refresh on their own, so most Steel Path hits just don’t land. Reave drains a percentage of health and energy from everything it passes through, keeping him topped off with no Trinity or Wisp required. Few frames can solo-tank an hour-plus run with this little input.

Strength: midDuration: highEfficiency: midRange: mid

Budget: Mesmer Skin alone makes him nearly unkillable with zero forma, which puts him among the strongest low-investment Steel Path survival frames.

Dante: overguard for everyone, damage for you

Light Verse throws Overguard on the whole squad for cheap, and Overguard eats damage before it ever touches health or shields. Tragedy then detonates every stacked Slash, Heat, and Toxin proc in range into a room-clearing nuke. Squad survival and scaling damage, off the same two abilities.

Strength: maxDuration: midEfficiency: highRange: high

Budget: Base-kit Light Verse Overguard already trivializes survival damage at zero forma. The full Tragedy nuke build is worth chasing later.

Nekros: he keeps the air on

Desecrate is the only ability in the game that directly multiplies Life Support Pod drops off corpses, and that’s the one number that actually matters in a Survival mission. It also doubles health and energy orb drops from every kill he desecrates. One frame, one button, air supply solved.

Strength: midDuration: lowEfficiency: highRange: max

Budget: Despoil swaps Desecrate’s cost from energy to health, so an unranked, un-formaed Nekros can spam it forever for free.

Nokko: the new kid holds the line

Brightbonnet pulses free energy and an ability-strength buff to the squad, and it works with basically no build required. His passive lets him collapse into a mushroom and regenerate near his own plants instead of bleeding out on the ground. He’s brand new as of late 2025, and 2026 tier lists already rank him S-tier next to Saryn for endless content.

Strength: highDuration: midEfficiency: lowRange: max

Budget: He only released in late 2025, so most players haven’t formaed him yet. His sustain works fine with no augments, so he’s cheap to pick up early.
