Zenistar

Build and guide

Skip it as a top heavy blade, build it only for the disc’s Heat aura, a persistent area-denial tool with no real competitor in the melee pool. The real weakness is the second-slowest swing speed of any heavy blade paired with a weak 10% base crit that only pays off with combo scaling.

Unique trait: The Disc

Heavy attack ejects a disc that hits for Impact on landing, then bursts for Heat and plants a 4m aura dealing 50 damage at 50% status every 0.8 seconds, lasting a base 10 seconds that scales with Combo Multiplier up to about 120 seconds at 12x. Heavy attack again or walk 100m away to recall it.

Zenistar is a flaming heavy blade earned only from Daily Tribute milestones (first at day 100, repeating about every 200 days) or Cephalon Simaris standing once owned, and it still matters in 2026 because of the disc: a stationary, combo-scaling Heat DoT zone nothing else in the melee pool replicates.

How to get the Zenistar

  1. Reach Mastery Rank 6.
  2. Log in daily and track your Daily Tribute progress; Zenistar becomes a selectable Milestone reward starting around day 100 and repeats roughly every 200 days.
  3. Pick Zenistar when it appears as your milestone choice; it comes with a free weapon slot and a pre-installed Orokin Catalyst.
  4. If you already own one, buy extra blueprints from Cephalon Simaris at a Relay for 100,000 standing (only unlocks in his offerings after you have owned the weapon once).
  5. No relics, bosses, or Syndicate research involved; check the in-game Daily Tribute screen for your exact current milestone, since Digital Extremes has adjusted the schedule before.

Zenistar cannot be sold or traded. The only way to get a second copy is the Simaris standing repurchase after your first Daily Tribute unlock.

Riven disposition sits at 1.15, a middle-of-the-road number, so a Zenistar riven is usable but not a big power spike, worth grabbing cheap rather than chasing hard.

Builds

Blood Rush converts your Combo Multiplier into crit chance, covering the weak 10% base crit and 2x multiplier, and Weeping Wounds scales the solid 30% base status. Add Cold and Toxin for Viral on top of Zenistar’s innate Heat split (150 of 298 total damage): Heat strips armor, Viral adds a flat multiplier, and both feed the disc’s Heat proc while blade swings build combo and the disc lands the AoE hit.

ModWhy it’s here
Primed Pressure PointFlat damage multiplier that scales every swing and the disc’s base Impact and Heat numbers.
Blood RushConverts your combo multiplier into crit chance, covering for Zenistar’s weak 10% base crit.
Weeping WoundsDoes the same trick for status, pushing the already-decent 30% base well past softcap at moderate combo.
Organ ShatterBoosts slash proc damage, capitalizing on the 68 slash split already in Zenistar’s base stats.
North WindAdds Cold, half of a Viral combo that pairs with the weapon’s innate Heat for armor strip plus damage vulnerability.
Virulent ScourgeAdds Toxin and bonus status chance, completing Viral for flat bonus damage against shields and flesh alike.
Berserker FuryAttack speed on crit speeds up combo building on a naturally slow blade before you deploy the disc.
Primed ReachExtra range on a slow heavy blade means fewer whiffed swings and easier disc placement over groups.

Melee Crescendo (from Netracells) is best-in-slot, banking permanent combo off Finisher kills to hold Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds numbers indefinitely; the cheaper option is Melee Animosity, 7,500 standing from Cavia (Bird 3) at Rank 4 Scholar, whose stacking on-hit crit fits the disc’s heavy-attack playstyle.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Disc creates a genuinely unique persistent AoE Heat zone nothing else in the melee pool does
  • Free, arrives with a pre-installed Orokin Catalyst and a weapon slot
  • Solid 30% base status chance for a heavy blade
  • Disc duration scaling rewards good combo management for long fights
  • Effective low-cost area denial for Defense and Excavation objectives

Cons

  • Second-slowest attack speed of any heavy blade
  • Weak 10% base crit chance before mods do the work
  • Cannot be traded, bought outright, or farmed on demand, only login-gated
  • Outclassed by nearly every other heavy blade for raw kill speed

This is for players who want a free area-denial tool for Defense, Excavation, or Survival, not those chasing top-tier heavy blade kill speed.
