Vectis Prime

Build and guide

Build it: Vectis Prime has the fastest sniper reload at 0.85s and a 30/30 crit-status hybrid profile, and the Vectis Incarnon Genesis adapter installs directly on the Prime for a second AoE mode. The weakness: it is still a single-target semi-auto rifle, so without the Incarnon form active it struggles to clear dense rooms compared to full-auto or AoE primaries.

Unique trait: Incarnon Genesis: Cryo Detonator

Vectis Incarnon Genesis installs directly on the Prime variant, and alt-fire in transformed mode launches a 300m/s Cold orb that embeds in a body shot for 2.5s or detonates instantly in a 6.7m Cold AoE on a headshot. Evolutions add flat base damage (Inciting Incident or Lone Enforcer), then +60% reload speed, then an Evo IV choice between more crit chance or converting crit chance into status chance.

Vectis Prime is the Prime version of the bolt-action sniper Vectis, released in 2015, and it stays relevant in 2026 because the Vectis Incarnon Genesis adapter installs directly on the Prime instead of only the base weapon.

How to get the Vectis Prime

  1. Vectis Prime is currently vaulted, so check Varzia’s Prime Resurgence rotation or the in-game relic screen before farming anything.
  2. If it is in rotation, buy the relics (or the assembled Blueprint, Barrel, Receiver, and Stock outright) from Varzia with Aya or Regal Aya, then crack relics in Void Fissure missions.
  3. If it is not in rotation, trade other players for the Blueprint, Barrel, Receiver, and Stock (Warframe Market or trade chat) using Platinum or Ducats.
  4. Build each component plus the main Blueprint in the Foundry, then assemble the finished Vectis Prime (requires Mastery Rank 14 to wield).
  5. For the Incarnon adapter, complete The Duviri Paradox and Angels of the Zariman, unlock Steel Path, then run Steel Path Circuit with Cavalero until Vectis Incarnon Genesis appears as a reward option, or buy the pre-installed adapter from Cavalero with Platinum.
  6. Install the adapter through Cavalero in the Chrysalith using the listed Duviri resources, then complete the in-mission Evo I through IV challenges to unlock every evolution perk.

Buying a fully-built Vectis Prime through trade is common and often faster than waiting on a vault rotation. The Incarnon adapter is earned separately through Circuit and is not tied to owning the vaulted Prime parts yet.

Riven disposition is 1.00x (three pips), the lowest tier, so a riven is not a priority: the base 30/30 crit-status split and Incarnon adapter already carry the build, and it’s only worth buying if cheap.

Builds

Crit heavy hybrid sniper build that leans on Point Strike and Vital Sense for damage while Hunter Munitions turns Vectis Prime’s frequent crits into extra slash procs off its 62% slash split. Cryo Rounds and Malignant Force combine into Viral to cut through armor and shields, with Split Chamber and Vigilante Armaments adding multishot to double every roll.

ModWhy it’s here
SerrationFlat base damage boost is the mandatory backbone for Vectis Prime’s single heavy bolt-action shot.
Split ChamberMultishot doubles the chances for Vectis Prime’s 30% crit and 30% status to roll on every bolt fired.
Point StrikeAdds a large chunk of crit chance, pushing Vectis Prime’s already solid 30% base crit into reliable red-crit territory.
Vital SenseBoosts crit damage multiplier so Vectis Prime’s modest 2x crit mult turns into genuinely devastating headshots.
Hunter MunitionsConverts Vectis Prime’s frequent crits into guaranteed bonus slash procs, syncing with its already heavy 62% slash split.
Vigilante ArmamentsStacks extra crit chance and multishot chance, reinforcing Vectis Prime’s crit and status hybrid profile in one slot.
Cryo RoundsSupplies the Cold half of a Viral combo and slows enemies, useful against shielded or fleshy sniper targets.
Malignant ForceSupplies the Toxin half of a Viral combo, stripping armor mitigation so Vectis Prime’s slash and crit damage lands harder.

Primary Merciless is the top pick, a stacking damage buff up to 12 times per kill, with Primary Deadhead, which drops from the same Steel Path Acolytes and caps at 3x on headshot kills, as the cheaper alternative.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Fastest-in-class sniper reload (0.85s) offsets the tiny magazine.
  • Genuine 30% crit / 30% status hybrid scales into either a pure-crit or Viral status build.
  • Incarnon Genesis installs directly onto the Prime, no need to keep a base Vectis around.
  • Puncture-heavy 350 total damage shreds armored Grineer targets.
  • Semi-auto scope rewards headshot accuracy with real single-target burst.

Cons

  • 2-round magazine forces constant reloading in sustained firefights.
  • Vaulted: getting parts means trading or waiting on a Prime Resurgence rotation.
  • Riven disposition 1.00 caps how much a rolled riven can add.
  • Single-target semi-auto kit falls behind AoE primaries in dense mobs without the Incarnon form active.

This is for players who like landing headshots and want an ammo-efficient precision rifle for single-target threats like Eximus, Nox, and Bombards, with the Incarnon adapter worth the forma for crowd moments.
