Build it if you want a headshot rifle that turns Steel Path priority targets into paste. Skip it if a 1.17 shots-per-second fire rate and a 55-round ammo pool sound miserable to manage. It’s a niche, high-skill pick, not a broad meta staple, and landing a copy with your ideal bonus element takes real grind.
Every Kuva Chakkhurr inherits a random bonus damage type from the Warframe that sired its Lich, adding 25 to 60% extra base damage of that element. Valence Fusion lets you feed a duplicate copy into your kept weapon to push that bonus toward the 60% cap.
The Kuva Chakkhurr is a semi-auto sniper-rifle hybrid built for one job: headshots. It fires a heavy round that lands, then detonates in a 2.9m radius that punches through walls, so even a miss on the head still does damage.
It’s not a crowd-clearer. Bring it when one enemy needs to die fast and you’re fine managing a small ammo pool to make that happen.
How to get the Kuva Chakkhurr
There’s no blueprint and no Market listing. This weapon comes from vanquishing a Kuva Lich. The listed Mastery Rank 15 requirement isn’t enforced, since Lich rewards skip the normal MR gate.
- Kill a Larvling during any Grineer mission to spawn a Kuva Lich. Cost: none beyond running a Grineer tile.
- Farm Thralls spawned by that Lich to collect murmurs until you learn all three Requiem mods in its order. Cost: time only, no credits or resources spent.
- Check the Lich’s weapon icon before confronting it. If it isn’t a Kuva Chakkhurr, kill it to end that Lich with no reward, then repeat from step 1. Cost: nothing extra, but this is where the real grind lives, since the weapon is assigned randomly and can’t be rerolled.
- Once a Lich spawns holding a Kuva Chakkhurr, confront it and slot the correct Requiem mods in order, then choose Vanquish. Cost: the 3 correct Requiem mods; a wrong guess ejects you but leaves the Lich alive for another attempt.
- Claim the weapon from your Foundry after the Vanquish cutscene finishes. Cost: standard Foundry claim, no extra resources.
Converting a Lich instead of vanquishing it keeps that Lich around as an ally. A Converted Lich carrying a Kuva Chakkhurr can be traded to another player through the Dojo’s Crimson Branch.

Builds
This build stacks crit chance, crit damage, and headshot multipliers on top of the Chakkhurr’s already-high base damage. Swap the elemental mod to match whatever progenitor element your Valence Fusion landed on, since that bonus damage scales with elemental mods.

Rifle
| Mod | Effect |
|---|---|
| Galvanized Chamber | +80% multishot, plus another +30% per kill, stacking up to 5x, for 20 seconds |
| Vital Sense | +120% critical damage |
| Primary Acuity | +350% headshot damage and +350% headshot critical chance at max rank; locks multishot from further modification |
| Semi-Rifle Cannonade | Adds base damage and punch-through, but locks fire rate at its unmodified value |
| Rifle Elementalist | Grants all four elemental damage types, scaling off your other equipped elemental mods |
| Primed Cryo Rounds | +165% Cold damage; swap for a 90/90 or progenitor-matching element mod depending on your Valence roll |
| Critical Delay | +200% critical chance and -20% fire rate; the fire rate penalty is neutralized when Semi-Rifle Cannonade is also equipped |
| Internal Bleeding | Gives Impact procs a 35% chance to also trigger a Slash proc, roughly doubled to about 70% because the Chakkhurr’s fire rate is under 2.5 rounds per second |
Arcane Hot Shot shows up in one build for this weapon online, but no second source backs it up, so treat it as unconfirmed rather than a settled pick. A crit-focused primary arcane in that slot is a reasonable guess if you don’t already have it.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Highest base damage of any semi-auto rifle, tied for the highest critical chance (50%) among non-Incarnon weapons, with a 2.3x crit multiplier and 0° spread.
- Direct hits deal 50% bonus headshot damage, and the follow-up 2.9m explosion penetrates walls with no line-of-sight required.
- Built-in progenitor elemental bonus of 25 to 60% extra base damage, plus Valence Fusion to push that bonus higher.
- Still a solid pick for Eidolon hunts when paired with slow-heavy frames like Harrow or Sevagoth.
- Strong Steel Path ceiling for eliminating tanky priority targets.
Cons
- Slow fire rate at 1.17 shots per second, plus a long 3.3-second reload.
- Tiny 55-round max reserve ammo pool, using a rare sniper ammo pickup type.
- Explosive rounds have travel time and can self-stagger you inside your own 2.9m blast radius (Cautious Shot fixes this).
- 2026 tier lists disagree on where it ranks: one places it S-tier, another B-tier, and a third leaves it off the list entirely.
This is a weapon for precision players, not spray-and-pray types. If headshot multipliers and single-target burst appeal to you, it delivers. Just budget time for the Lich grind before you fire a single round.
