Build it if you want a hard-hitting burst secondary that clears a doorway through walls; the 2.3m explosion radius and innate Corrosive damage chew through Grineer armor. The 9-round magazine and 27 max ammo mean you are reloading or scrounging drops constantly. Worth the Lich hunt for players who like burst-fire secondaries, skip it if you need sustained ammo economy.
Every shot bursts in a 2.3m radius on impact, dealing Corrosive explosion damage and applying status separately from the direct hit. The blast penetrates walls without needing line of sight, and close explosions stagger the player instead of dealing self damage.
The Kuva Seer is the Kuva variant of the standalone Seer pistol, trading its ammo economy for real firepower. Base damage jumps from 101 to 131, crit chance from 5% to 21%, and status chance from 13% to 33%, while max ammo drops from 210 to 27.
Players still talk about it in 2026 because the explosion is the actual weapon: shots burst in a 2.3m radius on impact, applying Corrosive damage that ignores walls and does not require a direct hit. That makes it one of the better secondaries for clearing groups around corners.
It stays a niche pick rather than a top meta secondary because 27 max ammo is genuinely restrictive; three magazines and you are out unless you are picking up ammo drops. The 1.1x riven disposition and 2.30s reload also keep it from being a stress-free carry.
How to get the Kuva Seer
- Finish The War Within and reach Mastery Rank 5.
- Run any Grineer mission at level 20 or higher. When the lights flicker yellow, kill fast and a Kuva Larvling drops.
- Walk up to the Larvling and read the weapon it shows. If it is not the Kuva Seer, leave it alive and run another mission.
- Mercy-kill it with the Warframe whose progenitor element you want; that frame sets the bonus element on the weapon.
- Hunt the Lich: clear its nodes for Requiem murmurs, stab it with the Requiem mods in the right order, and vanquish it in the Railjack showdown on Saturn Proxima.
- The Kuva Seer lands in your Foundry inbox with a 25 to 60 percent bonus of that element.
Fuse a second copy with Valence Fusion to push the bonus to 60 percent and choose the element you keep. Converted Liches trade in a Clan Dojo, so a Toxin or Magnetic copy can be bought. Rank 40 with five Forma.
Stats
| Class | Secondary |

| Mastery Rank | 15 |
| Trigger | SEMI |
| Noise | Alarming |
| Fire Rate | 2.5 |
| Accuracy | 16 |
| Magazine | 9 |
| Reload | 2.3 s |
| Critical Chance | 21% |
| Critical Multiplier | 1.9x |
| Status Chance | 33% |
| Riven Disposition | (1.1) |
| Damage | 200 total |
|---|---|
| Impact | 26.2 |
| Puncture | 68.1 |
| Slash | 36.7 |
| Corrosive | 69 |
Riven disposition sits at 1.1x, slightly above average, so a riven is a reasonable investment if one drops cheap. The 33% status chance and innate Corrosive explosion already do most of the anti-armor work a riven would otherwise need to provide.
Builds
The build wants to widen and reinforce the explosion rather than chase raw crit. Multishot and fire rate mods add more exploding projectiles per trigger pull, Fulmination extends the blast radius to lessen falloff, and Primed Heated Charge’s Heat pairs with a Toxin progenitor for a Gas cloud that lingers after the initial burst.

| Mod | Why it’s here |
|---|---|
| Hornet Strike | Flat base damage mod for secondaries, up to +220% at max rank, scaling both the direct hit and the explosion. |
| Barrel Diffusion | Adds multishot, meaning more exploding projectiles fired per trigger pull on a weapon whose main damage is its blast. |
| Lethal Torrent | Dual stat mod adding fire rate and multishot, squeezing more explosions out of the tiny 9-round magazine before a reload. |
| Galvanized Diffusion | Adds multishot, and every kill stacks more multishot for a while. |
| Primed Target Cracker | Raises critical damage, so the crits that land hit harder. |
| Primed Pistol Gambit | Raises critical chance so more shots crit at all. |
| Primed Heated Charge | Dual stat mod adding Heat damage and status chance; paired with a Toxin progenitor it forms Gas for lingering area damage. |
| Fulmination | Increases the explosion’s blast radius, covering more area per shot and reducing how much damage falls off toward the edge. |
Secondary Merciless is the standard pick, stacking damage on kills up to 12 times with faster reloads. Secondary Encumber is the alternative for a status weapon: every status proc has a chance to add a second random status.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- 2.3m explosion radius applies Corrosive damage through walls with no line of sight needed
- 131 base damage and 33% status chance are both strong for a secondary
- 21% crit chance with a 1.9x multiplier gives a usable secondary damage path
- High zoom supports engaging targets at range before closing in
Cons
- 9-round magazine and only 27 max ammo mean roughly 3 magazines before ammo runs dry
- 2.30s reload time is slow relative to the tiny magazine it refills
- Close-range explosions stagger the player, which can interrupt combat flow
- Radial explosion damage cannot trigger headshots or headshot multipliers
Good fit for players who want a burst-fire secondary that clears through cover and don’t mind managing a small ammo pool. Skip it if sustained fire without scrounging for ammo matters more to your loadout.
