Build it for a point-blank burst secondary with real crit stats: 29% crit chance and a 2.0x multiplier across 10 pellets per trigger pull hits hard up close. Damage falls off almost completely past 10m, so it is useless as anything but a close-range weapon. Worth it if your kit already gets you into melee range; skip it if you fight at a distance.
Fires 10 pellets per shot with 0.5m innate punch-through. Damage starts falling off at 10m and drops sharply by 20m, so it only rewards close-range Grineer encounters.
The Kuva Brakk is the Kuva variant of the Brakk hand cannon, a semi-automatic secondary that fires 10 pellets per shot. Against the base Brakk it roughly doubles critical chance (29% vs 17%) and status chance (11.1% vs 5.1%), with a larger 11-round magazine and innate 0.5m punch-through.
It still comes up in 2026 build talk because a crit-focused point-blank secondary with real burst damage is rare among Kuva weapons, most of which lean on status instead. Ten pellets per pull also means every shot has multiple chances to proc whatever elements are modded in.
It never left niche status because the falloff is brutal: damage drops sharply past 10 to 20m, so the weapon is dead weight at range. Its 0.95x riven disposition, below the 1.0x baseline, also limits how far a riven can push it.
How to get the Kuva Brakk
- Finish The War Within and reach Mastery Rank 5.
- Run any Grineer mission at level 20 or higher. When the lights flicker yellow, kill fast and a Kuva Larvling drops.
- Walk up to the Larvling and read the weapon it shows. If it is not the Kuva Brakk, leave it alive and run another mission.
- Mercy-kill it with the Warframe whose progenitor element you want; that frame sets the bonus element on the weapon.
- Hunt the Lich: clear its nodes for Requiem murmurs, stab it with the Requiem mods in the right order, and vanquish it in the Railjack showdown on Saturn Proxima.
- The Kuva Brakk lands in your Foundry inbox with a 25 to 60 percent bonus of that element.
Fuse a second copy with Valence Fusion to push the bonus to 60 percent and choose the element you keep. Converted Liches trade in a Clan Dojo, so a Toxin or Magnetic copy can be bought. Rank 40 with five Forma.

Riven disposition sits at 0.95x, slightly below the 1.0x baseline, so a riven is a modest upgrade rather than a huge one; only chase one if it is cheap. The 29% crit chance is the stat worth building around, since the 11.1% base status chance needs real mod investment before it does much.
Builds
The build stacks crit chance and crit damage since that is where the weapon’s stats already lean, while using dual-stat elemental mods to patch its weak base status chance rather than trying to force a pure status build. Galvanized Diffusion and Galvanized Shot turn multishot pellets and status procs into stacking bonuses, and the weapon is played strictly at point-blank range to avoid its falloff.

| Mod | Why it’s here |
|---|---|
| Hornet Strike | Flat base damage mod for secondaries, up to +220% at max rank, scaling all 10 pellets per shot. |
| Primed Target Cracker | Raises critical damage, so the crits that land hit harder. |
| Lethal Torrent | Dual stat mod adding fire rate and multishot, squeezing more pellet volleys out of the 11-round magazine. |
| Galvanized Diffusion | Adds multishot, and every kill stacks more multishot for a while. |
| Primed Pistol Gambit | Raises critical chance so more shots crit at all. |
| Primed Heated Charge | Dual stat mod adding Heat damage and status chance, patching the weapon’s low base status. |
| Pistol Pestilence | Dual stat mod adding Toxin damage and status chance; combined with Primed Heated Charge’s Heat it forms Gas for lingering damage. |
| Galvanized Shot | Adds status chance and grants a stacking direct-hit damage bonus for every status type already on the target, which the pellet spread applies quickly. |
Secondary Merciless is the standard pick, stacking damage on kills up to 12 times with faster reloads. Secondary Encumber is the alternative for a status weapon: every status proc has a chance to add a second random status.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- 29% crit chance and 2.0x multiplier are strong for a Kuva secondary
- 10 pellets per shot with 0.5m innate punch-through
- 11-round magazine, larger than the base Brakk’s 5
- High burst damage per trigger pull at close range
Cons
- Severe damage falloff past 10 to 20m makes it useless at range
- 11.1% base status chance is low without dedicated mod investment
- 0.95x riven disposition sits below the 1.0x baseline
- High recoil and wide spread hurt accuracy even up close
Good fit for players who already get in enemies’ faces and want a secondary with real crit numbers rather than another status stick. Skip it if your playstyle keeps you at range.
