Build it if you already own it or can grab a cheap relic set, since it starts every fight with a Combo Count of 30 for a 2.0x heavy attack multiplier before your first swing. The real weakness is 0.8 attack speed, and the weapon is currently vaulted with no direct relic farm route in.
Fragor Prime starts every mission with a Combo Count of 30, giving a 2.0x heavy attack multiplier from the first swing instead of building it up over time. Opening heavy attacks and slams hit harder than on non-Prime hammers with identical mods.
Fragor Prime is the Orokin two-handed hammer unlocked at Mastery Rank 12 with 270 base damage, 40% crit chance, a 2.5x crit multiplier, and 18% status, and its free starting Combo Count keeps it competitive in September 2026 Steel Path heavy attack and slam builds despite being nearly a decade old.
How to get the Fragor Prime
- Check the Prime Resurgence rotation at Varzia in your Orbiter first; unvaulted Primes cycle through there for Aya, and Fragor Prime periodically becomes available that way.
- If it is not currently in rotation (it is vaulted as of September 2026), buy the Blueprint, Handle, and Head pieces from other players via trade chat or a trading site, since the relics that drop them are pulled from the drop tables while vaulted.
- If the relics do get unvaulted later, crack the specific relic tiers shown on your in-game relic/Codex screen (do not assume a fixed relic name here, it changes) in Void Fissure missions to get the three components.
- Stock up on Orokin Cells and credits, since the Blueprint and each component need them plus their own Foundry build timers.
- Build the Blueprint, then Handle and Head separately, then combine them into the finished Fragor Prime in the Foundry.
- Slot an Orokin Catalyst for double mod capacity, then Forma it toward a combo-scaling build (Madurai polarity matches its default stance slot, Crushing Ruin).
It’s fully tradeable (parts and blueprint), so buying a complete set from another player is usually faster than waiting on a Prime Resurgence window; no reason to build a second copy unless you want a separate riven or forma layout.

Builds
With 40% base crit, a 2.5x multiplier, and 18% status, Fragor Prime is a hybrid weapon: run Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds to convert growing Combo Count into crit and status chance together. Add Viral (Cold plus Toxin) for the damage multiplier, a Heat proc for armor strip since 189 base Impact hits hard but procs weak, and Organ Shatter with Berserker Fury for crit damage and faster combo growth.

Melee
| Mod | Why it’s here |
|---|---|
| Primed Pressure Point | Flat base damage increase that every other percentage-based mod scales off of. |
| Blood Rush | Converts the Combo Counter into extra crit chance, pushing 40% base crit into orange and red crit territory fast thanks to the head-start combo. |
| Organ Shatter | Adds crit damage on top of the already high 2.5x multiplier for bigger numbers on every crit. |
| Weeping Wounds | Scales status chance with the same Combo Counter Blood Rush uses, turning the modest 18% base status into a real proc engine. |
| Berserker Fury | Grants attack speed on crit hits, and Fragor Prime crits often, so swings and combo generation both speed up. |
| North Wind | Cold damage half of a Viral combo, doubling damage taken and covering for Impact’s weak native status. |
| Virulent Scourge | Toxin damage that completes the Viral combo with North Wind for consistent bypass of armor and shields. |
| Molten Impact | Heat proc for armor strip against Steel Path enemies, filling the gap a pure Viral build leaves against armored targets. |
Melee Influence is the best pick if you can farm it, spreading Cold or Heat status procs to nearby enemies; Arcane Strike or Arcane Fury are cheaper Zariman alternatives that lean into the already-high crit chance.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- High 40% base crit chance for a heavy weapon
- Strong 2.5x crit multiplier
- Innate combo head start (30 Combo Count) makes early heavy attacks hit hard immediately
- 270 total base damage, mostly Impact, shreds unarmored and shielded targets
- Solid hybrid crit/status ceiling once Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds are running
Cons
- 0.8 attack speed is slow and clunky in fast-paced missions
- Currently vaulted, no direct relic-farming route in
- Impact-heavy damage means weak native status effects without elemental mods
- Riven disposition is only average (1.05), so rolls cost moderate plat
Fragor Prime is for players who already own it or don’t mind hunting trade chat for a vaulted set; skip it if you’re starting from zero and would rather farm an unvaulted weapon instead.
