Build it for a heavy attack scythe with genuinely good numbers. It has the highest base status chance of any scythe and a heavy attack wave that blinds and pools damage on the ground, and the only real weakness is a low riven disposition and reliance on setting off its Blind proc to get real value out of stealth multipliers.
Heavy attacks throw a wide Corrosive wave forward that travels roughly 30 to 37 meters, blinding enemies it hits and leaving a damaging Corrosive pool with very high status chance on the ground behind it.
Coda Caustacyst is the Technocyte Coda variant of the Caustacyst scythe, added with the rest of the Coda weapon line in the Techrot Encore update.
It kept a strong reputation into 2026 because its acid pool and wave mechanics were carried over and improved, with longer pool duration and higher base stats than the original.
Community tier lists place it in A-tier among scythes largely because of its combination of the highest scythe status chance in the game and a heavy attack that both damages and blinds a wide area.
How to get the Coda Caustacyst
- Finish The Hex quest.
- With no active Lich, Sister or Coda, run a Hollvania Exterminate, Hell-Scrub or Legacyte Harvest and pick up the Mixtape. Hack it (a Potency mod on success) and Arthur announces the new Technocyte Coda.
- Slot up to three Antivirus mods on the Parazon and mercy-kill Coda Duets on the band’s nodes until the right mod confirms; each hit raises the Disinfection meter, and missions on their nodes add 5 percent.
- At 100 percent, follow the Coda to Earth Proxima and finish it in a Railjack showdown for 10 to 15 Live Heartcells.
- Buy the Coda Caustacyst from Eleanor in the Hollvania Central Mall for 10 Live Heartcells. Her shop shows two batches of Coda weapons that rotate every four days, each with a random bonus element and percentage (25 to 60).
Coda members ignore the progenitor system, so the element is whatever the shop rolls; Valence Fusion merges two copies up to 60 percent and lets you keep the element you want. Rank 40 with five Forma.

Riven disposition is 0.85x, still on the lower side, so a riven mostly adds incremental crit chance or status rather than transforming the build; most players skip it and lean on the weapon’s already-high 0.41 base status chance instead.
Builds
The standard 2026 build is a Melee Influence heavy attack build: stack Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds off combo for crit and status, Condition Overload for damage per unique status, and an Electric progenitor roll or Voltaic Strike so every heavy attack wave has a chance to spread its Corrosive, Blind, and any added elements to everything within 20 meters.

Melee
| Mod | Why it’s here |
|---|---|
| Primed Pressure Point | Flat base damage increase that boosts both normal attacks and the corrosive wave heavy attack. |
| Blood Rush | Converts combo counter into extra critical chance to make use of the weapon’s crit stats past its low 0.19 base. |
| Weeping Wounds | Converts combo counter into extra status chance, stacking with an already high 0.41 base status. |
| Condition Overload | Adds damage per unique status effect, scaling fast since the wave applies Corrosive and Blind together. |
| Organ Shatter | +90% critical damage, flat. |
| Sacrificial Steel | +220% critical chance, doubled on Heavy Attacks. |
| Corrupt Charge | Starts every fight with +30 combo for an early Heavy Attack; combo decays faster in return. |
| Primed Fever Strike | Adds Toxin damage to help build a secondary elemental combo alongside the innate Corrosive. |
Melee Influence is the strongest pick when the build carries an Electricity source: an Electricity proc spreads every elemental status on the target to enemies nearby. Arcane Strike is the cheap fallback, attack speed on hit with no setup.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Highest base status chance among scythes
- Corrosive wave heavy attack hits and blinds at long range
- Corrosive pool adds sustained area damage after the wave lands
- Strong scaling with Condition Overload and combo mods
- No RNG to acquire, bought directly from Eleanor
Cons
- Low 0.85x riven disposition still limits riven value relative to non-Coda weapons
- Low base crit chance of 0.19 makes a pure crit build weaker than a status build
- Best value depends on landing an Electric proc to trigger Melee Influence spread
Good pick for a player who wants a heavy attack focused scythe with genuinely high status numbers and a wide-area utility tool in the Blind proc, rather than a fast-swinging crit weapon.
