Build it if you need a cheap stat stick. Skip it if you want a real Steel Path melee weapon. On its own the numbers are weak, too weak to matter in a straight fight without a riven and heavy modding. As a stat stick, though, it’s cheap, fast to unlock, and genuinely good at the one job it has: feeding crit and combo into abilities like Khora’s Whipclaw and Atlas’s Landslide.
At 6x combo, a Heavy Attack fires exploding spectral Heat daggers. The Evolutions hold a near-permanent 12x combo counter, which is exactly what pseudo-exalted abilities like Whipclaw feed on.
Ceramic Dagger is an MR3 dagger most players either ignore outright or build around one very specific job: feeding stats to a pseudo-exalted ability. On its own it hits soft. Real soft. Base damage, crit, and status are all low across the board. The Incarnon Genesis is what changes that. It turns the dagger into a combo machine and gives it a heavy attack that actually does something.
Build combo to 6x, then throw a Heavy Attack. That fires off two spectral daggers at your crosshair, dealing Heat damage with forced Impact procs, and they explode on impact. The form sticks around for 180 seconds or until you die, and it survives holstering, bleedout, even getting disarmed. That’s a long window. The Incarnon evolutions push you toward keeping the form up permanently instead of firing it once and moving on.
Here’s the actual reason people search for this weapon: not the spectral daggers. A fully evolved Ceramic Dagger holds a 12x combo counter almost for free, and combo counter is exactly what pseudo-exalted abilities scale off of. Equip it. Don’t even swing it. Khora, Atlas, Gara, Mesa, and Hildryn all get stronger just from that. That’s the build most people are actually running.
How to get the Ceramic Dagger
You need Mastery Rank 3. That’s the only real gate. The blueprint comes from Nightwave Offerings for 50 Nora, but Nightwave runs a rotating store, so it isn’t always sitting there waiting for you. If it’s not up right now, check back on the next rotation. The old method, farming Jupiter’s boss J3-Golem for a drop, is dead. That drop got pulled at some point before this year, so don’t waste time hunting the Golem for it. Got a friend with spares? Trading works too.
Crafting costs 15,000 Credits, 4 Gallium, 500 Ferrite, 500 Alloy Plate, and 600 Polymer Bundle, with a 12 hour build timer. Nothing exotic there. Any active player already has these sitting in storage.
The Incarnon Genesis is where the real decision sits. Two paths. The free one runs through Cavalero in the Chrysalith, tied to The Circuit’s Steel Path rotation, and it requires having finished The Duviri Paradox and Angels of the Zariman with Steel Path already unlocked. Not appealing? Cavalero also sells it outright for 120 Platinum, and that purchase includes the installation resources, so you skip the farming entirely. Go the free route instead and installing the Genesis afterward costs 20 Pathos Clamps, 70 Dracroot, and 80 Connla Sprouts on top of whatever it took to earn the blueprint. Neither path is fast. Budget a Circuit run or 120 plat, whichever you’d rather spend.

Nothing flashy. Base damage, crit chance, and status chance are all unremarkable on their own, and 90% of the damage is Puncture, a rough type to be stuck with against armored Steel Path targets. The one number worth circling is riven disposition at 1.43, five dots, high end of the scale. A good roll actually moves the needle here, more than it would on a weapon that’s already strong without one.
Builds
There isn’t one correct build here, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. Community setups split into a few real camps: pure stat sticks that drop elemental mods entirely and just stack crit and combo, since only base stats and the combo counter transfer to the ability anyway; combo sticks built for a permanent 12x counter feeding Mesa’s Secondary Outburst; stealth finisher builds running Covert Lethality for guaranteed one-shots; and direct combat builds leaning on Condition Overload and elemental combos for the heavy attack explosions. The eight mods below cover the ground that shows up across most of them. Swap slots depending on which of those four jobs you’re actually building for.

Melee
| Mod | Why |
|---|---|
| Blood Rush | Turns combo counter into crit chance. Without it, the dagger’s base crit isn’t worth mentioning. |
| Weeping Wounds | Same trick, but for status chance. Runs next to Blood Rush in almost every build, and for good reason. |
| Organ Shatter | Flat crit damage, no real downside. Easy slot to fill. |
| Primed Reach | More range on every swing. Simple quality of life, nothing fancy. |
| Condition Overload | Scales damage off status effects already on the target. Players report the scaling gets inconsistent across the Incarnon evolution tiers, so test it on your own setup before you trust the number. |
| Covert Lethality | Bonus finisher damage and starting combo for stealth-finisher play. The old instant-kill effect is long gone. |
| Primed Fever Strike | Adds Toxin that pairs with the Incarnon daggers’ Heat for Gas procs that hit flesh and shields both. |
| Melee Crescendo | Tennokai mod that feeds combo back on Tennokai strikes, so heavy attacks stop wrecking your counter. Too new for the game’s public data files, which is why there’s no card above. |
Melee Doughty shows up in more Ceramic Dagger builds than any other arcane. It converts Puncture status chance into bonus critical multiplier, and this weapon is almost entirely Puncture damage, so the pairing makes sense on paper and in practice. Popular, not universal. Plenty of builds skip an arcane slot on this weapon entirely and put the resources somewhere else.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- MR3 is the only wall. The blueprint comes from Nightwave for 50 Nora, no boss grind required.
- Incarnon Genesis is free through the Duviri Steel Path Circuit if you’ve cleared the prerequisites, or a flat 120 Platinum if you’d rather skip the wait.
- The Incarnon evolutions make holding a 12x combo counter close to effortless, which is exactly what pseudo-exalted abilities like Whipclaw and Landslide need from a stat stick.
- Riven disposition sits at 1.43, five dots, so a strong roll actually does something here.
- Covert Lethality turns it into a near-free guaranteed stealth finisher on unalerted targets.
Cons
- Base stats are weak across the board. Without heavy modding or a riven it’s dead weight in a straight fight.
- 90% Puncture damage is a poor match for armored Steel Path enemies unless Condition Overload and status procs are doing the heavy lifting.
- It’s not competing with Okina, Kronen Prime, Praedos, or Glaive Prime for actual melee damage in the current meta, and it shouldn’t be judged against them.
- The build is genuinely build-dependent. Community setups disagree on half the mod slots, and some standard melee mods reportedly don’t affect the spectral dagger explosion at all.
Grab this if you’re building Khora, Atlas, Gara, Mesa, Hildryn, or Titania and want a cheap combo engine for the ability doing the real work. It’s also a fine pickup if you want a reliable stealth finisher for 120 plat or a Circuit run. Want a strong standalone Steel Path melee, though? Spend your riven and your platinum somewhere else. This dagger was never built for that job, and pretending otherwise wastes both plat and time.
