Akstiletto Prime

Build and guide

Build it for a cheap, low-maintenance automatic secondary that clears Steel Path with no riven needed, thanks to a 7.08 rounds per second fire rate and 30% status chance. The one real weakness is a 15% crit chance that never gets meaningfully better.

Unique trait: Airborne Ammo Efficiency (Zazvat-Kar)

The exclusive Zazvat-Kar augment grants extra ammo efficiency while airborne, and stacked with Akimbo Slip Shot it hits 100% ammo efficiency during aim glides. This turns the 40-round mag into a non-issue for bullet-jump and aim-glide playstyles.

Akstiletto Prime is the Prime version of the akimbo Akstiletto dual machine pistols, unlocked at Mastery Rank 10, and it still matters in 2026 as a cheap, low-forma automatic secondary that clears content without a riven or Incarnon adapter.

How to get the Akstiletto Prime

  1. Check Varzia in Maroo’s Bazaar, or the in-game Prime Resurgence menu, to see if Akstiletto Prime relics or the finished weapon are in the current unvault rotation, since the set is vaulted outside those windows.
  2. If it is not currently unvaulted, look up which Void Relics carry its parts on the in-game relic screen or a current drop-table source (wiki or Warframe Market), since relic contents rotate and old relic names go stale.
  3. Farm those relics in matching Void Fissure missions, refining to Radiant when possible for better odds at the rare final reward, or buy the relics or finished parts from other players on Warframe Market or trade chat.
  4. Crack enough relics to collect every Akstiletto Prime component, then build each part and the final weapon in the Foundry once you have an Orokin Reactor or Forma ready for it.
  5. Optional: buy the exclusive Zazvat-Kar augment separately from Father on the Necralisk once you reach Rank 4 (Friend) standing with the Entrati; it is unrelated to the relic farm.

A second copy, for trading parts or a spare build, means repeating the relic farm or buying it again on the market, since Prime items carry no built-in duplicate discount.

Riven disposition is 0.85, two of five dots, so a strong roll costs real kuva or plat, but base 15% crit and 30% status already carry the weapon through Steel Path, making a riven a nice-to-have, not a requirement.

Builds

Build for status since 30% base status chance beats the 15% base crit chance: max base damage and multishot first, add just enough crit chance and crit damage as a bonus, then run Cold plus Toxin for Viral so the high fire rate keeps refreshing stacks. A pure crit build isn’t worth chasing at only 15% base chance unless a riven pushes it hard.

ModWhy it’s here
Hornet StrikeFlat base damage that scales every hit and every status tick, the mandatory first mod on any secondary.
Galvanized DiffusionMultishot doubles effective status procs on a 30% status weapon, and the on-kill stacking keeps scaling in longer fights.
Galvanized ShotAdds status chance and on-kill per-status damage stacking, rewarding the weapon’s naturally high status instead of chasing crit alone.
Primed Pistol GambitA 15% base crit chance is too low to leave untouched, and this pushes it into a usable range cheaply.
Primed Target CrackerOnce crit chance is patched up, this multiplies the payout on the crits that do land.
Lethal TorrentDual fire rate and multishot in one slot suits the already fast 7.08 rounds per second and frees a polarity for elements.
FrostbiteSupplies the Cold half of a Viral combo while adding more status chance on a weapon built to proc.
Pistol PestilenceSupplies the Toxin half of the Viral combo, and Viral’s health-damage multiplier is what actually kills at this status uptime.

Secondary Merciless is the pick since its stacking on-kill damage buff doesn’t need headshots, and Secondary Deadhead from Steel Path Acolytes is the cheaper alternative if Merciless is out of reach, though its headshot requirement is harder to land with akimbo pistols.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • 7.08 rounds per second fully automatic fire rate gives near-primary DPS out of a secondary slot
  • 40-round shared magazine plus a 1.1s reload keeps both pistols firing almost nonstop
  • 30% base status chance makes Viral procs land reliably without heavy modding
  • Cheap, low-forma build that clears Steel Path without needing a riven
  • Exclusive Zazvat-Kar augment gives near-unlimited ammo during bullet jumps and aim glides

Cons

  • Only 15% base crit chance, so a dedicated crit build needs riven help to be worthwhile
  • Noticeable recoil and spread on full-auto fire, often pushing builds toward Steady Hands mods
  • Vaulted, so getting it means buying relics or platinum, or waiting on a Prime Resurgence rotation
  • No Incarnon path since dual and akimbo weapons are excluded from Incarnon Genesis, capping its ceiling below newer secondaries

This is a pick for budget-minded players who want a comfortable, forma-light automatic secondary for the starmap and early-to-mid Steel Path, not for anyone chasing top-of-tier-list DPS or Incarnon scaling.
