Prelude to War is not one quest; it is the Codex folder that holds the three story chapters between The Sacrifice and The New War: Chimera Prologue (the Paracesis), Erra (the Old War flashback and the Sentient brother), and The Maker (Ballas and Natah). Play them in order from the Codex; only Chimera has combat. When the folder shows complete, The New War can start.

Chimera Prologue: Follow the Man in the Wall through Lua and the Sentient chamber; earn the Paracesis blueprint. Watch: Do not get seen by Ballas.
Erra: Watch the Old War flashback and Erra's return through the Ropalolyst's eyes. Watch: A cinematic; the Ropalolyst fight itself is a separate Jupiter node.
The Maker: See Natah, Erra and Ballas set up the invasion. Watch: Cinematic; it points straight at The New War.
Archived operations: Scarlet Spear and Orphix Venom sit in the folder as story summaries. Watch: Nothing to play; they were limited-time events.
