The short answer
Finish Howl of the Kubrow, destroy Kubrow Dens in the Grineer Forest on Earth for an egg, and hatch it in the Incubator with a Power Core. Pick Huras for stealth, Sunika to hunt Eximus units, or Raksa to guard your shields. DNA integrity and loyalty no longer decay, so there is no upkeep.

From nothing to a Kubrow
- Start Howl of the Kubrow from the Codex. It unlocks after the Venus to Mercury Junction and gives you the Incubator segment.
- Destroy Kubrow Dens in the Grineer Forest tilesets on Earth until an egg drops. The quest hands you your first one.
- Get an Incubator Power Core. The Venus to Mercury Junction gives one, and the blueprint is 50,000 Credits in the Market.
- Incubate the egg. It takes 48 hours, or 24 with the Nutrio Incubator Upgrade Segment.
- Optional: apply up to two Genetic Code Templates of a Kubrow you already own before incubating, to pass traits on.
- Claim the pup, name it, and mature it. You get two Kubrow mods on claim.
- Equip the mature Kubrow under Companion Loadout in the Arsenal.

Tips that save runs
- DNA stabilisation is gone. Update 30.5 removed DNA Integrity, Loyalty and the stabilizers, so nothing decays.
- You earn the collar in the quest once. Every later Kubrow reuses it.
- A Helminth Charger needs a Helminth Cyst from a Nidus infection. It is ready 7 days later, then you Drain it in the Incubator instead of using an egg.
Mistakes that waste runs
- Looking for stabilizers. They were removed from the Market.
- Using a Kubrow imprint for a Kavat. Imprints only work for their own species.
