Vauban is a control frame, not a damage dealer: Bastille locks a room down and Vortex sucks everyone in it into one spot, so you turn hallways and defense objectives into kill boxes enemies can't move or shoot out of. He's built for holding a point in Steel Path survival, defense, or interception while your weapons (or squad) do the actual killing.
