Best weapons for Excavation

Kuva Zarr	Its cannonballs cluster-bomb infested and Power Carriers rushing the dig site.
Kuva Bramma	Cluster arrows still shred groups rushing the excavator, even after the 2026 falloff tuning.
Torid	The Incarnon’s toxin clouds blanket approach lanes and keep stacking damage on anything that lingers.
Amprex	Continuous chain lightning melts clustered melee infested and never needs a reload gap.

Frost: the zero-setup wall

Snow Globe absorbs damage into extra HP. No setup needed, and it works from rank 0.

You don’t need an augment or forma to make this work.

Gara: the damage-reduction wall

Splinter Storm cuts damage by up to 50%, and Mass Vitrify walls off the site while refreshing itself.

Needs the Chains of Harrow quest done first, but no forma required to solo.

Khora: heals and refills cells

Venari on Heal posture keeps the excavator’s real HP topped up, and Pilfering Strangledome can drop extra Power Cells on the side.

No augment needed to start. Add Strangledome once you’ve got the mod slot.

Limbo: pulls the dig into the Rift

Cataclysm pulls the excavator into the Rift, so material-plane enemies literally can’t touch it.

It’s a forma-light build, but watch for Nullifier bubbles since they still collapse the dome.

Octavia: steals the aggro

Resonator’s charm pulls infested off the excavator and onto the drone, where Mallet cleans them up.

Skip the Mandachord. Just recast near the dig site and let it work.
