Build it if a Lich hands it to you and you like Heavy Attack hammers; the 2.7x crit multiplier is the second-highest of any hammer in the game. Its 3m range and 50 degree block angle are both below average, so it plays worse than the stat sheet suggests in a crowd. Not worth farming a specific Lich for over other hammer options.
Heavy Slam Attacks lift and ragdoll enemies into the air instead of just knocking them down. The slam’s Impact damage does not proc Impact status the way other weapons’ slams do.
The Kuva Shildeg is a Grineer warpick-style hammer that only drops from Kuva Liches. It pairs a 31% crit chance with a 2.7x multiplier, second only to Sampotes among hammers, and hits primarily through Puncture.
Players still bring it up in 2026 because hammer-class Heavy Attack builds hit some of the hardest single swings in the game. Blood Rush and Sacrificial Steel push its crit chance well past 100% at full combo, and Condition Overload cashes in on its mixed Impact, Puncture, and Slash split.
It never became a top meta pick because its range and block angle sit below average for hammers, and the Lich grind is the same slog regardless of which weapon spawns. Its 0.8x riven disposition also caps how far a riven pushes it.
How to get the Kuva Shildeg
- Finish The War Within and reach Mastery Rank 5.
- Run any Grineer mission at level 20 or higher. When the lights flicker yellow, kill fast and a Kuva Larvling drops.
- Walk up to the Larvling and read the weapon it shows. If it is not the Kuva Shildeg, leave it alive and run another mission.
- Mercy-kill it with the Warframe whose progenitor element you want; that frame sets the bonus element on the weapon.
- Hunt the Lich: clear its nodes for Requiem murmurs, stab it with the Requiem mods in the right order, and vanquish it in the Railjack showdown on Saturn Proxima.
- The Kuva Shildeg lands in your Foundry inbox with a 25 to 60 percent bonus of that element.
Fuse a second copy with Valence Fusion to push the bonus to 60 percent and choose the element you keep. Converted Liches trade in a Clan Dojo, so a Toxin or Magnetic copy can be bought. Rank 40 with five Forma.

Riven disposition sits at 0.8x, one of the lower tiers, so a riven helps less here than on a fresh-release weapon; only chase one if it is cheap or already owned. The 31% crit chance and 27% status chance both hold up on their own, which is why the weapon supports a straight Blood Rush crit build or a Condition Overload status build equally well.

Blood Rush and Weeping Wounds convert the combo counter into crit chance and status chance, Condition Overload multiplies off the weapon’s spread of physical damage types, and Sacrificial Steel with Corrupt Charge push crit chance and starting combo higher so a single Heavy Attack kills. Primed Fever Strike’s Heat keeps targets panicked between swings.
