Build it if you already have a Lich carrying it, skip hunting one on purpose. It has the highest status chance of any burst rifle and a mode-swap alt fire that covers crit and status both, but its per-bullet damage is tied for the lowest of any burst-fire rifle and it gets outclassed by other Kuva primaries at endgame.
Alt fire cycles the weapon through three firing modes: 5-round burst, semi-auto, and full-auto. Each mode uses the same magazine and mods, so you swap play style without swapping loadout.
The Kuva Hind is the Lich-only version of the Grineer burst rifle Hind, carrying higher base stats and the second-highest crit chance of any semi-auto rifle in the game.
It stays in conversation in 2026 mostly because of its alt-fire trick: burst, semi-auto, and full-auto on one weapon means one build can flex between precision headshots and hose-down clearing.
It is not a top-tier Kuva weapon. Community tier talk usually puts Kuva Nukor, Kuva Zarr, and Kuva Chakkhurr above it, with the Hind sitting in the solid-but-not-special tier.
How to get the Kuva Hind
- Finish The War Within and reach Mastery Rank 5.
- Run any Grineer mission at level 20 or higher. When the lights flicker yellow, kill fast and a Kuva Larvling drops.
- Walk up to the Larvling and read the weapon it shows. If it is not the Kuva Hind, leave it alive and run another mission.
- Mercy-kill it with the Warframe whose progenitor element you want; that frame sets the bonus element on the weapon.
- Hunt the Lich: clear its nodes for Requiem murmurs, stab it with the Requiem mods in the right order, and vanquish it in the Railjack showdown on Saturn Proxima.
- The Kuva Hind lands in your Foundry inbox with a 25 to 60 percent bonus of that element.
Fuse a second copy with Valence Fusion to push the bonus to 60 percent and choose the element you keep. Converted Liches trade in a Clan Dojo, so a Toxin or Magnetic copy can be bought. Rank 40 with five Forma.

Riven disposition sits at 1.1, on the higher side for a Kuva weapon, so rivens roll decently and are reasonable to chase if you want to push crit or status further, though the weapon’s low per-bullet damage caps how much a riven can change its ceiling.
Builds
Run a hybrid crit/Viral build: max multishot and crit chance/damage mods first, then slot Cold plus a Toxin mod so the base Slash procs land on a Viral debuff. Burst or semi-auto mode gets the most value from crit mods since single high-damage hits matter more there.
