Coda Synapse

Build and guide

Build it if you want a crit-focused beam rifle for bossing and level-cap content. High 0.4 crit chance with a 2.7x multiplier and innate Corrosive make it hit hard once the beam ramps up, and its main weakness is that ramp-up window itself, which punishes short, twitchy engagements.

Unique trait: Ramping Beam

As a held-trigger continuous weapon, damage per tick climbs from 20% up to 100% over about 0.6 seconds of sustained fire, then decays back down over roughly 2 seconds after the trigger is released.

Coda Synapse is the Technocyte Coda variant of the classic Synapse beam rifle, added with the rest of the Coda weapon line in the Techrot Encore update.

It became a notable 2026 bossing and level-cap weapon because the Coda version adds real base crit chance and multiplier on top of the original’s already-strong beam damage, plus a random progenitor bonus element.

Its pinpoint accuracy, built-in headshot bonus, and small amount of punch through make it a reliable pick for Disruption and other precision-focused endless content.

How to get the Coda Synapse

  1. Finish The Hex quest.
  2. With no active Lich, Sister or Coda, run a Hollvania Exterminate, Hell-Scrub or Legacyte Harvest and pick up the Mixtape. Hack it (a Potency mod on success) and Arthur announces the new Technocyte Coda.
  3. Slot up to three Antivirus mods on the Parazon and mercy-kill Coda Duets on the band’s nodes until the right mod confirms; each hit raises the Disinfection meter, and missions on their nodes add 5 percent.
  4. At 100 percent, follow the Coda to Earth Proxima and finish it in a Railjack showdown for 10 to 15 Live Heartcells.
  5. Buy the Coda Synapse from Eleanor in the Hollvania Central Mall for 10 Live Heartcells. Her shop shows two batches of Coda weapons that rotate every four days, each with a random bonus element and percentage (25 to 60).

Coda members ignore the progenitor system, so the element is whatever the shop rolls; Valence Fusion merges two copies up to 60 percent and lets you keep the element you want. Rank 40 with five Forma.

Riven disposition is 0.90x, one of the higher values among the Coda weapons, so a well-rolled riven adds meaningful value here compared to the Coda melees.

Builds

The standard 2026 build stacks Point Strike and Vital Sense for crit chance and damage on top of an already high 0.4 base crit chance, Galvanized Chamber for multishot with bonus crit chance on status, Hunter Munitions to convert crits into guaranteed Slash procs, and Primed Cryo Rounds with Malignant Force to layer Viral over the innate Corrosive.

ModWhy it’s here
SerrationFlat base damage increase applied to every tick of the beam.
Point StrikeRaises critical chance, pushing the already high 0.4 base further toward a reliable red crit rate.
Vital SenseRaises critical damage multiplier on top of the weapon’s 2.7x base for bigger crit ticks.
Galvanized ChamberAdds multishot, and every kill stacks more multishot for a while.
Hunter MunitionsConverts critical hits into guaranteed Slash procs, valuable given the weapon’s high crit chance.
Primed Cryo RoundsAdds Cold damage to combine with Toxin into Viral for extra damage vulnerability on targets.
Malignant ForceAdds Toxin damage and status chance, the other half of the Viral combo with Primed Cryo Rounds.
Vile AccelerationAdds fire rate for a small damage cut, which raises the tick rate of the beam for more damage per second.

Primary Merciless is the top pick, stacking up to +360% damage on kills for a weapon that already kills quickly once the beam ramps up. A cheaper alternative is Primary Deadhead, which scales off headshots and synergizes with the weapon’s built-in 20% headshot damage bonus and pinpoint accuracy.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • High 0.4 base critical chance with a strong 2.7x multiplier
  • Innate Corrosive damage plus a random progenitor bonus element
  • Built-in 20% headshot damage bonus with pinpoint accuracy
  • Small amount of punch through for hitting multiple targets in a line
  • No RNG to acquire, bought directly from Eleanor

Cons

  • Damage ramps up over about 0.6 seconds, weak on short trigger pulls
  • Continuous ammo drain can strain reserves without efficiency mods
  • Low 0.15 base status chance means it leans almost entirely on crit

Best for players who want a precision beam weapon for bossing, Disruption, or other sustained-fire endless content, and who can commit to holding the trigger down to get full value from the ramp.
