Coda Pox

Build and guide

Build it for area denial and status stacking, not for crit damage; its 10 percent base crit chance is a dead stat. The Poison Cloud on every impact makes it a strong debuff and softening tool, but the tiny 8 round magazine means it needs fire rate and multishot support to feel good.

Unique trait: Poison Cloud

Every impact detonates into a 2.8 meter toxin cloud that lingers for 4 seconds and deals its own separate damage and status tick on top of the direct hit.

Coda Pox is the Technocyte Coda variant of the Infested thrown secondary Pox, sold by Eleanor of The Hex in the Hollvania Central Mall. It keeps the base weapon’s pure Toxin damage and dual-stage impact-plus-cloud hit.

It gets attention in 2026 as an area-denial pick: the cloud deals damage and rolls status independently of the direct hit, so a single throw can tag several enemies with Toxin procs.

Like every Coda weapon it comes from vanquishing a Technocyte Coda, the Warframe 1999 era’s Infested Lich equivalent, not from a Kuva Lich or Sister of Parvos.

How to get the Coda Pox

  1. Finish The Hex quest.
  2. With no active Lich, Sister or Coda, run a Hollvania Exterminate, Hell-Scrub or Legacyte Harvest and pick up the Mixtape. Hack it (a Potency mod on success) and Arthur announces the new Technocyte Coda.
  3. Slot up to three Antivirus mods on the Parazon and mercy-kill Coda Duets on the band’s nodes until the right mod confirms; each hit raises the Disinfection meter, and missions on their nodes add 5 percent.
  4. At 100 percent, follow the Coda to Earth Proxima and finish it in a Railjack showdown for 10 to 15 Live Heartcells.
  5. Buy the Coda Pox from Eleanor in the Hollvania Central Mall for 10 Live Heartcells. Her shop shows two batches of Coda weapons that rotate every four days, each with a random bonus element and percentage (25 to 60).

Coda members ignore the progenitor system, so the element is whatever the shop rolls; Valence Fusion merges two copies up to 60 percent and lets you keep the element you want. Rank 40 with five Forma.

Riven disposition is a low 1.0x, and with only a 10 percent base crit chance a riven is far more useful for status chance or multishot than for crit stats.

Builds

The 2026 build chases near-100 percent status chance with four dual-stat mods, since the 10 percent crit chance is a dead stat. Hornet Strike carries the raw damage, Galvanized Shot turns the stacked procs into direct damage, and Cascadia Flare turns constant Heat procs into a large passive buff.

ModWhy it’s here
Hornet StrikeFlat +220% damage at max rank, the base every other bonus multiplies from.
Barrel DiffusionAdds multishot: more projectiles per trigger pull, more procs and more crit rolls.
Lethal TorrentFire rate and multishot: more spore impacts and more clouds per magazine.
Galvanized DiffusionAdds multishot, and every kill stacks more multishot for a while.
Galvanized ShotAdds status chance, and every kill adds direct damage per status type already on the target.
Pistol PestilenceAdds Toxin damage and status chance straight onto the native element.
ScorchAdds Heat damage and status chance, a second proc type for the cloud.
FrostbiteAdds Cold damage and status chance; with a Cold bonus element it becomes innate Viral.

Cascadia Flare is the standout, stacking bonus damage for as long as Heat status keeps landing, which the cloud sustains on its own. Secondary Merciless is the cheaper, always-on alternative.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Poison Cloud covers groups, not just the direct hit target
  • Very high status output once built for it
  • Explosion penetrates walls without needing line of sight
  • Cheap to buy once the Coda loop is already running

Cons

  • Very low native critical chance
  • Tiny 8 round magazine
  • Cannot equip Concealed Explosives
  • Locked behind the same Hollvania Coda grind as every other Coda weapon

A strong area-denial secondary for players who already have the Hollvania Coda loop running; skip it if hunting Codas for Live Heartcells does not appeal.
