Angstrum

Build it if you want a Riven project or you already grabbed the Prisma from Baro. Skip it if you’re chasing Steel Path clear speed: Sportskeeda’s September 2026 tier list has it at C, and the build that makes it dangerous costs 6 to 7 forma before it does anything special. It’s a toy first, a meta pick a distant second.

Unique trait: Ricochet fireballs

Land 3 direct hits and the Transmutation gauge fills. Alt-fire then switches the Angstrum into Incarnon Form, a fully automatic launcher that fires small Heat fireballs from a separate 120-round pooled magazine, each shot bouncing to hit a second enemy within 20m.

The Angstrum is a Corpus rocket pistol with a 3-round magazine and a habit of staggering you with your own explosions. Most players ignore it until they want a Riven project or a break from ballistic secondaries.

Base form throws AoE Blast damage that clears groups at close to mid range, then punishes you for standing too close to your own blast. Incarnon Form fixes the ammo problem and swaps in Heat damage. It doesn’t fix Steel Path scaling by itself.

How to get the Angstrum

The base weapon is a plain Market purchase. The Incarnon Genesis takes more patience.

  1. Buy the blueprint from the Market. Cost: 25,000 Credits. Requires Mastery Rank 4.
  2. Build it in the Foundry. Cost: 25,000 Credits, 600 Alloy Plate, 400 Circuits, 900 Salvage, 2 Argon Crystals. Build time: 1 day, or rush it with Platinum.
  3. Optional: buy Prisma Angstrum from Baro Ki’Teer when it’s in his rotation. Cost: 210,000 Credits and 475 Ducats. Requires Mastery Rank 8. There’s no Angstrum Prime, only Prisma and Conclave variants, so don’t hold out for one.

The Incarnon adapter doesn’t come from the Market at all. It comes from The Circuit.

  1. Run Steel Path Circuit and pick the Angstrum Incarnon Genesis as your rotation reward. Cost: free, though the rotation cycles, so check Cavalero’s offerings in the Chrysalith instead of hunting for a specific week.
  2. Or skip the wait: buy it directly from Cavalero. Cost: 120 Platinum, one-time purchase.
  3. Install the Genesis Adapter on the weapon. Cost: 20 Pathos Clamps, 70 Ueymag, 80 Lamentus.

Builds

This build chases two multiplicative systems at once. Galvanized Shot scales damage off status stacks. Pistol Acuity scales crit chance in Incarnon mode. Community builds on Overframe converge on the same core mods, making both stack instead of competing for slots.

ModEffect
Galvanized Shot+80% status chance. On kill, +40% direct damage per status type on the target for 14s, stacking up to 3x.
Galvanized Diffusion+110% multishot. On kill, +30% multishot for 20s, stacking up to 4x.
Primed Pistol Gambit+187% critical chance.
Primed Target Cracker+110% critical damage.
Pistol Acuity+350% weak point damage and +350% weak point critical chance. Multishot can’t be modified while equipped.
Magnetic Might+60% Magnetic damage and +40% critical damage.
Accelerated Isotope+60% Radiation damage and +40% fire rate.
Pistol Pestilence+60% Toxin damage and +60% status chance, feeding Galvanized Shot’s stacks.

Two slots have solid swaps depending on your playstyle. Trade Galvanized Diffusion for Galvanized Crosshairs if you want more headshot crit, or Primed Target Cracker for Primed Convulsion if you’re leaning into a pure status build.

Cascadia Flare is the standard Arcane pick, worth up to +480% damage off heat status stacks and multiplicative with Galvanized Shot in Incarnon mode. Arcane Precision shows up as a swap-in for some builds, but it’s only available from one source, so treat it as a maybe, not a rule.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Very high Riven disposition (1.35x base, 1.30x Prisma), one of the stronger secondaries to gamble a Riven on.
  • Incarnon Form is fully automatic with a 120-round pooled magazine (40 rounds per charge, up to 3 charges), separate from normal ammo reserves.
  • Stacks two multiplicative damage systems at once: Galvanized Shot’s status scaling and Pistol Acuity’s crit scaling.
  • Base-form Blast AoE clears groups at close to mid range. A decent leveling weapon.
  • Cheap to build: a plain Market blueprint plus credits at Mastery Rank 4, and the Incarnon Genesis is farmable for free through Steel Path Circuit.

Cons

  • Blast damage staggers you if you’re standing too close to your own explosions.
  • Sportskeeda’s September 2026 tier list ranks it C-tier, citing weak Steel Path damage.
  • Base form’s 3-round magazine and 2.5s reload (1.8s on Prisma) punish any interrupted charge window.
  • Incarnon ricochet isn’t true homing. It can miss its second target.
  • The build that hits its real damage ceiling needs 6 to 7 forma. Weak out of the box.

This is a Riven project before it’s a Steel Path weapon. If you’ve got a decent Angstrum Riven, or the Prisma sitting in your inventory from a Baro visit, the Incarnon build finally gives it a job worth doing.

If raw Steel Path clear speed is the goal, this isn’t it. Look elsewhere. Plenty of other Mastery Rank 4 secondaries scale further for less forma spent.
