Coda Bubonico

Build and guide

Build it for the alt fire alone. The primary auto mode needs a 7-shot spool-up before it hits its listed 27% crit chance and full fire rate, but the burst alt fire explodes through walls in a 7 meter radius, and together they cover both single-target and room-clear duty.

Unique trait: Dual Barrage

Primary fire is a fully automatic pellet stream that spools up over 7 shots before reaching full fire rate and crit chance. Alt fire switches to a 3-round burst that detonates in a 7 meter AoE on impact, with the explosion penetrating walls without needing direct line of sight.

Coda Bubonico is the Technocyte Coda upgrade of the Infested arm cannon Bubonico, sold by Eleanor at The Hex after a Coda Lich is defeated.

It improves crit chance, status chance, fire rate, and magazine size over the base Bubonico, and it is officially classified as a Launcher so it dodges shotgun-only mission restrictions.

Players still build it in 2026 for the hybrid kit: a spooling auto primary for single targets and a wall-piercing explosive burst alt fire for groups.

How to get the Coda Bubonico

  1. Finish The Hex quest.
  2. With no active Lich, Sister or Coda, run a Hollvania Exterminate, Hell-Scrub or Legacyte Harvest and pick up the Mixtape. Hack it (a Potency mod on success) and Arthur announces the new Technocyte Coda.
  3. Slot up to three Antivirus mods on the Parazon and mercy-kill Coda Duets on the band’s nodes until the right mod confirms; each hit raises the Disinfection meter, and missions on their nodes add 5 percent.
  4. At 100 percent, follow the Coda to Earth Proxima and finish it in a Railjack showdown for 10 to 15 Live Heartcells.
  5. Buy the Coda Bubonico from Eleanor in the Hollvania Central Mall for 10 Live Heartcells. Her shop shows two batches of Coda weapons that rotate every four days, each with a random bonus element and percentage (25 to 60).

Coda members ignore the progenitor system, so the element is whatever the shop rolls; Valence Fusion merges two copies up to 60 percent and lets you keep the element you want. Rank 40 with five Forma.

0.55 riven disposition is low, so a riven on Coda Bubonico is a lower priority than on most primaries. The weapon performs fine on its base stats alone once the auto mode spools up, making a riven a luxury rather than a requirement.

Builds

Run a crit-leaning shotgun build since the primary auto mode’s 27% crit chance and 2.3x multiplier reward it once spooled up, and let the alt fire’s 61% burst status chance handle priming and crowd control. Galvanized Savvy fits well here since it adds both crit chance and stacking elemental status on kills.

SET: PRIMARY
ModWhy it’s here
Primed Point BlankFlat shotgun damage bonus that scales both fire modes.
Hell’s ChamberMultishot adds more pellets per burst on both primary and alt fire.
Galvanized SavvyAdds status chance, and every kill adds direct damage per status type on the target; the shotgun version of Galvanized Shot.
BlunderbussRaises crit chance further off the auto mode’s 27% base once spooled up.
Primed RavageCrit damage bonus that pays off on the 2.3x base multiplier.
BlazeAdds flat damage and Heat damage in one slot.
Shell ShockAdds Electricity damage and status chance, a cheap way to round out the elemental combo.
Vigilante ArmamentsExtra multishot on its own, plus bonus crit chance if paired with a second Vigilante set piece elsewhere.

Primary Merciless is the top pick, stacking kill-based damage across both fire modes. Primary Crux, from The Hex, is the cheaper alternative while you farm Acolytes for Merciless.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Two distinct fire modes cover both single-target and AoE clear
  • Alt fire explosions penetrate walls without needing line of sight
  • 27% crit chance and 2.3x multiplier once the auto mode spools up
  • Launcher classification avoids shotgun-only mission restrictions
  • Large 36-round magazine with a battery-style regen instead of pickups

Cons

  • 7-shot spool-up delays the auto mode’s real damage and crit chance
  • 0.55 riven disposition, low value for chasing a riven
  • 5.5 second reload is slow if the battery fully empties
  • Alt fire does not benefit from multishot, capping its pellet count

Best for players who want one weapon that handles both single hard targets and grouped enemies without swapping loadouts.
