Build it. Cedo costs standing and credits, not platinum or a vaulted relic, and it’s still sitting in A-tier community rankings five years after release. Want a Steel Path-capable primary without an Incarnon grind or a Riven roll? This is the cheapest way to get one. Skip it only if you’re already running something with more raw burst and don’t need another primary slot filled.
Primary fire deals 60% more damage for every unique status effect currently active on the target, no mod slot spent to get it. Alt-fire launches the blade as a glaive that bounces off surfaces up to 11 times and detonates in a roughly 6-meter radius. One throw can stack three or four status types before you even touch the main trigger.
Cedo is Lavos’ signature primary, a shotgun-glaive hybrid that shipped in 2021 and never really left the meta conversation. The idea is simple. Throw the blade, let it proc status on everything nearby, then switch to primary fire and watch the built-in damage bonus scale off whatever you just applied.
Run it on Lavos specifically and he passively converts a slice of any ammo pickup into primary ammo while Cedo is equipped, which takes some pressure off the small 40-round magazine. You don’t need Lavos to make the gun work, though. The status scaling is built into the weapon itself, not tied to a Warframe kit.

How to get the Cedo
Cedo needs Mastery Rank 8 and access to Necralisk on Deimos, which means finishing the Heart of Deimos quest first.
- Buy the main blueprint from Father for 5,000 standing at Entrati Rank 4 (Friend).
- Buy the three component blueprints (Barrel, Receiver, Stock) for 5,000 standing each at Rank 5 (Family), for 20,000 standing total.
- Build it for 20,000 Credits on a 12-hour timer, rushable with Platinum.
Every part is tradeable, so buying the finished weapon or the full blueprint set from another player with Platinum works just as well if you’d rather skip the standing grind.

Riven disposition sits at 1 dot out of 5 (0.65x), about as low as the scale goes. A Cedo Riven adds comparatively little on top of the base build. Save the plat for a weapon that actually rewards the roll.
Builds
The build leans entirely into the free status-damage passive: prime as many status types as you can, then let primary fire’s built-in bonus do the heavy lifting. Multishot and status chance matter more here than raw crit. That said, Cedo’s native crit stats are solid enough that skipping crit mods isn’t a big loss.

That last slot is the one build guides argue about most. Some swap Blunderbuss for Critical Deceleration (+200% Critical Chance, -20% Fire Rate) or Hunter Munitions (a chance to force a Slash proc on crit). None of these picks are wrong. They just push the build a little further toward crit instead of pure status stacking, so pick based on what you already run elsewhere.
For the arcane slot, Primary Merciless is the more common recommendation: +30% weapon damage per kill, stacking up to 12 times for +360% at cap, plus +30% Reload Speed at max rank, which helps with that small magazine. Primary Frostbite is a real alternative if you’re leaning into the Cold status this build already applies through Frigid Blast. It gives +3% Critical Damage and +2.25% Multishot per Cold proc, stacking up to 40 times. Sources disagree on which one is actually better here, so either is a defensible pick.

- Cheap and fully farmable. No platinum, no vaulted relics, no Riven required to make it Steel Path viable.
- Still A-tier in community rankings five years after its 2021 release, which is rare for a 20,000-standing MR8 weapon.
Cons
- Riven disposition is 0.65x, 1 dot out of 5. Don’t expect much from a roll.
- Small magazine for the fire rate. How much this actually matters is debated: some build guides give up a mod slot for an ammo mutation mod, others call the ammo economy just okay.
- Sits below the current S/SS-tier Incarnon primaries for raw burst and AoE clear in the hardest Steel Path content.
- The throw-and-return rhythm of the alt-fire glaive takes more practice to use well than a simple hitscan status gun.
New MR8 players and anyone testing out Lavos’ kit should just build it. Zero investment risk. If you already own an Incarnon-evolved primary like Torid or Phenmor, Cedo isn’t going to out-damage it in the hardest content, but it’ll clear everything below that without issue. There isn’t much reason to skip it.
