Build it for its Incarnon Genesis. The Incarnon form provides significant power. Without Incarnon, its low base stats make it a weak choice.
Fires in three-round bursts. It takes an Incarnon Genesis adapter from the Steel Path Circuit, which is where most of its 2026 power comes from.
The Burston is a Tenno burst-fire assault rifle, known for its characteristic three-round bursts. It was introduced with the game’s release.
Initially, the Burston’s design was a source of speculation regarding its faction origin, as it did not directly fit the Tenno aesthetic. However, a redesign confirmed its Tenno origin.
The Burston has received several updates over time, including increases to its critical chance, critical damage, and status chance, as well as a visual remodel and new reload sound.
How to get the Burston
- Complete the Vor’s Prize quest to receive the Burston blueprint and crafting resources (excluding Ferrite).
- Purchase additional blueprints from the Market for credits.
- Complete The Duviri Paradox and Angels of the Zariman quests, and unlock The Steel Path.
- Earn the Burston Incarnon Genesis from The Circuit’s Steel Path.
- Apply the Incarnon Genesis to the Burston via Cavalero in the Chrysalith.
The Burston blueprint and resources are awarded directly to new players upon completing Vor’s Prize, encouraging early crafting.

Builds
Given its low critical chance and critical multiplier, a pure critical build is not optimal for the base Burston. However, with the Incarnon Genesis, its stats can be significantly improved, allowing for a hybrid critical and status build. Focus on increasing critical chance and damage while also boosting status chance to apply powerful elemental effects.
