Warframe Input Lag Fix (2026): Reduce Frame Latency, VSync, Reflex and Mouse Feel

The settings that change how Warframe feels: latency, VSync, cap, driver modes, deadzones

Last Updated on September 30, 2026

The short answer

Five settings decide how Warframe feels: Reduce Frame Latency On, Vertical Sync Off, Max Framerate at your refresh rate, a sane display mode, and a controller deadzone that is not too big. Warframe has no NVIDIA Reflex toggle. NVIDIA’s driver Low Latency Mode only affects DirectX 11, because in DirectX 12 the game decides when to queue frames.

SettingWhereSet it to
Reduce Frame LatencyOptions, DisplayOn, then restart the game
Vertical SyncOptions, DisplayOff; the Max Framerate list needs it off
Max FramerateOptions, DisplayYour refresh rate (60, 120, 144, 165, 200, 240, 360 Hz are on the list)
Display ModeOptions, DisplayFullscreen; Borderless is fine with Optimized Flip-Model on DirectX 11
NVIDIA Low Latency Mode or AMD Anti-LagDriver control panelDirectX 11 only for NVIDIA; AMD says Anti-Lag works best when the GPU is the limit
NVIDIA ReflexNot in WarframeNo in-game toggle; Warframe is not on NVIDIA’s Reflex games list
Enhance pointer precisionWindows, Mouse settingsOff; Warframe’s Options has no acceleration toggle
Right Stick DeadzoneOptions, ControllerLowest value that does not drift

Do these in order

  1. Options, Display: turn Reduce Frame Latency on and restart Warframe. DE says it does not take effect until you restart.
  2. Options, Display: set Vertical Sync to Off.
  3. Options, Display: set Max Framerate to your monitor's refresh rate.
  4. Display Mode Fullscreen if you want the Refresh Rate option. In Borderless on DirectX 11, keep Optimized Flip-Model on.
  5. NVIDIA and DirectX 11 only: NVIDIA Control Panel, Manage 3D Settings, Low Latency Mode On. Skip it on DirectX 12.
  6. Windows 11: Settings, Bluetooth & devices, Mouse, turn Enhance pointer precision off. On Windows 10 it is under Additional mouse options, Pointer Options.
  7. Controller: Options, Controller. Lower Right Stick Deadzone one step at a time until the camera drifts, then go up one step.
  8. Use DE's tester at warframe.com/gamepad to see where your stick rests when released.

CPUCores: Maximize Your FPS

If you’ve worked through the settings above and still get stutter, the bottleneck is often background processes stealing CPU time from the game. CPUCores isolates Windows and background tasks onto separate cores so your game gets the rest. It launches straight from Steam and detects your library automatically.

Tips that save runs

  • DE says Reduce Frame Latency has no drawback with Vertical Sync off or with G-Sync or FreeSync. On a fixed-refresh screen at low frame rates, slow camera moves might feel less smooth.
  • Optimized Flip-Model is on by default since Update 33.5 and needs Windows 10. Check it is still on.
  • DE raised the default stick deadzones to 20 percent in 29.2.4 because 15 percent caused drift for some players.

Mistakes that waste runs

  • Turning on NVIDIA Ultra Low Latency and expecting a change on DirectX 12. NVIDIA says the game decides when to queue frames there.
  • Hunting for a raw input toggle. DE's Options has none; set Windows acceleration off and move on.
  • Leaving Vertical Sync on. NVIDIA's latency guide says VSync adds back pressure and to turn it off if you accept tearing.
