Warframe FPS Cap, VSync and 144 Hz Settings (2026): Max Framerate, Reduce Frame Latency and Input Lag

Cap at the refresh rate, VSync off, Reduce Frame Latency on; the input lag settings

Last Updated on September 14, 2026

The short answer

Set Max Framerate to your monitor’s refresh rate (60, 120, 144, 165, 240 or 360), leave Vertical Sync Off, turn Reduce Frame Latency On, and let G-Sync or FreeSync in the driver handle tearing. No Limit is only for benchmarks; it heats the GPU and adds input lag from the queue. There is no raw input toggle in Warframe; mouse acceleration is a Windows setting.

The input lag checklist

  1. Display: Reduce Frame Latency On. DE describes it as improving responsiveness and using less VRAM.
  2. Display Mode Fullscreen, or Borderless with Optimized Flip-Model on DirectX 11; on DirectX 12 Borderless is already flip-model.
  3. Vertical Sync Off in game; adaptive sync in the driver.
  4. Windows: Mouse, Enhance pointer precision off. That is the acceleration toggle; the game has none of its own.
  5. Cap below No Limit. A queue of frames the monitor cannot show is latency, not smoothness.
  6. Controller: turn down Look Sensitivity dead zones in Options, Controls, if aiming feels late.

CPUCores — Maximize Your FPS

If you’ve worked through the settings above and still get stutter, the bottleneck is often background processes stealing CPU time from the game. CPUCores isolates Windows and background tasks onto separate cores so your game gets the rest — it launches straight from Steam and detects your library automatically.

Tips that save runs

  • Refresh Rate in Display only appears in Fullscreen mode; Borderless always uses the desktop refresh rate.
  • Show FPS reports frame time; 6.9 ms is a locked 144.

Mistakes that waste runs

  • Capping at 60 on a 144 Hz monitor because a guide from 2018 said so.
  • Running No Limit and VSync Auto together and getting the worst of both.
