The short answer
The Plains have 13 fish. Seven need no bait, Sharrac and Karkina want Twilight Bait, and the four rare fish (Murkray, Norg, Cuthol, Glappid) each need their own bait thrown into a hotspot. Buy the Lanzo, Tulok and Peram spears from Fisher Hai-Luk, then match the spear to the fish in the table.

The fishing route
- Buy a Lanzo, Tulok and Peram from Fisher Hai-Luk in Cetus. They cost 500 standing each at Neutral.
- Equip a spear from the Gear wheel. Fish only spawn once the spear is out.
- Walk to water: Gara Toht Lake north of Cetus, ponds inland, or the ocean coast either side of the Cetus gate.
- Hold aim and listen for splashing. Lead the throw: aim a little above and ahead of the fish.
- For a baited fish, find a hotspot (white bubbling ripples) and throw its bait in. One bait works the hotspot for about 3 minutes.
- Cut the catch up at Hai-Luk. Every fish gives Fish Meat, Fish Scales and Fish Oil, plus the part in the table.

Tips that save runs
- Night lasts about 50 minutes of every 150 on the Plains. Stock Norg, Cuthol and Glappid bait before dusk.
- Pharoma (Trusted, Hai-Luk) calms nearby fish, so a miss doesn't scatter them. Luminous Dye makes fish easier to see.
- Peram is the spear for scaly fish: Glappid, Khut-Khut, Mawfish, Mortus Lungfish and Norg. Tulok is the Tralok spear.
Mistakes that waste runs
- Using a Lanzo on Glappid, Norg or Tralok. It can't land them in one throw.
- Using a Shockprod or Stunna on the Plains. Shock spears can't catch Plains fish.
- Throwing a second bait of the same type into a hotspot. It doesn't stack.
