The short answer
Ostron standing comes from doing jobs for Cetus locals: Konzu’s bounties, fish for Fisher Hai-Luk, raw gems for Old Man Suumbaat, built Zaws for Hok, and conservation. Rank 5 (Kin) costs 99,000 standing, 200,000 credits and four rare items. Bounties carry the day, and fish and gems fill the rest of the cap.

The daily Cetus loop
- Take Konzu's bounties or use a Radio Console on the Plains. Field bounties refresh every 2.5 hours.
- Finish the bonus objective in every stage. It adds standing on top of the stage reward.
- Repeat bounties. A repeat still pays items and standing.
- Fish for baited species, mainly Murkray, Norg, Cuthol and Glappid, and hand them to Fisher Hai-Luk.
- Sell raw gems to Old Man Suumbaat, and hand any built, max-ranked Zaw to Hok.
- Do conservation from an Archwing, where animals often spawn in groups of three, or use the Echo-Lure for Mergoo.
- When you hit a rank threshold, talk to Konzu to rank up.

Tips that save runs
- Each rank also gives you one free item of that rank from the standing vendors. Take it before you spend standing.
- Every rank-up takes the standing in the table, so the full climb is 240,000 standing. At a 26,000 cap (Mastery Rank 20) that is 10 days if you hit the cap daily and buy nothing.
- The daily cap is 16,000 standing plus 500 per Mastery Rank, counted per syndicate, and it resets at 0:00 UTC. At Mastery Rank 20 that is 26,000 a day.
Mistakes that waste runs
- Spending standing on wares before a rank-up. The rank-up needs the full amount in the table.
- Ignoring bonus objectives. Bounties are the fastest source and the bonus is free standing.
