Sagek Prime

Build and guide

Build it for the Old Peace collection, not for a build. Thirty percent crit at 2.2x on a 75 round machine pistol is a real line, but 1 percent status means no Galvanized Shot and no priming, and the perk fires too rarely to matter. Mastery fodder with a good feel.

Unique trait: Grineer Brutality

After a critical hit, the next shot has a 6 percent chance to fire at 500 percent status chance.

The Sagek Prime is a secondary weapon introduced in Update 41.0, blending Grineer and Orokin aesthetics. It is a fully automatic sidearm with a mastery rank requirement of 14.

Its base stats include a 30% critical chance and a 2.2x critical multiplier. However, its status chance is a mere 1%, which is exceptionally low for a weapon that relies on status effects.

The weapon’s unique trait, ‘Grineer Brutality,’ aims to address its low status chance by boosting it after a critical hit. This mechanic attempts to create a synergy between critical hits and status application.

How to get the Sagek Prime

  1. Finish The Old Peace to open the Dark Refractory in Sanctum Anatomica.
  2. Run The Perita Rebellion (Recall: Dactolyst, Recall: Hunhullus, Recall: Vanguard, The Guilty): the blueprint, barrel and receiver are Rotation A drops.
  3. Or buy them from Roathe in La Cathedrale with Maphica earned in The Descendia.
  4. Build the parts, then the pistol: 12 hours each, or rush with platinum.

Not a relic weapon and not vaulted.

Builds

Pure crit: Primed Pistol Gambit and Primed Target Cracker on the 30 percent base, Barrel Diffusion, Galvanized Diffusion and Lethal Torrent for bullets, Pathogen Rounds and Convulsion for flat Corrosive damage (status is 1 percent, so elements are damage, not procs), Hornet Strike underneath.

Secondary Merciless is the pick: stacking damage on kills with faster reloads. Secondary Encumber for a status build (a chance at a second random proc), Secondary Deadhead if you land headshots.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Fully automatic fire mode
  • Unique critical-to-status trait
  • Prime weapon base stats
  • Aesthetically pleasing design
  • Components drop from the same mission type

Cons

  • Extremely low base status chance (1%)
  • Low riven disposition (0.8)
  • Trait relies on critical hits to boost status, which may be inconsistent
  • Requires significant mod investment to be viable

The Sagek Prime presents an interesting concept with its critical-to-status trait, but its foundational stats are too weak to make it a top-tier contender. While it can be built for, players seeking high-performance secondaries will likely find better options that require less effort to scale.
