Brysko is Digital Extremes’ next new Warframe, a noir-detective “Chimeraframe” built from Sentient technology instead of standard Warframe biotech. DE revealed him during TennoLive at TennoCon 2026 on July 11 in London, Ontario, and tied him to the upcoming Warframe: Tau expansion. There’s no confirmed release date yet, just DE’s own “2026” window.
What’s confirmed
DE describes Brysko as “silent to the world, but alive in inner monologue,” a frame built for one job: infiltrate the inner circle of The Hunra, the crime boss running Fornax, the ring-city at the center of the new Tau system. Matthew Mercer (The Legend of Vox Machina, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth) voices that inner monologue.
He’s classed as a “Chimeraframe,” DE’s term for a frame built by Albrecht Entrati out of Sentient tech rather than the biology behind a standard Warframe.
Two abilities have actually been shown. His 1 throws Portau playing cards that trigger Sentient-energy lightning strikes. His 4, Corecracker, is an exalted snub-nose revolver built to counter Sentients, whose kills leave floating energy cores that zap nearby enemies with lasers, with a fanning-the-hammer animation for rapid fire. Signature gear pairs that Corecracker pistol with an exalted fist weapon called Rain & Shine.
Fornax itself is a ring-city soaked in black rain and Bloom, split into slums, docks, and a central casino, guarded by a new Sentient-descended faction called the Fornax Drowners. Warframe: Tau also adds Portau, the game’s first original card minigame, played with Bloom, Core, Moon, and Sun suits.
Brysko ships with Warframe: Tau, which is separate from and comes after the Iceblade of Narin update landing September 23, 2026. That update brings its own new frame (Warframe’s 66th), a Banshee rework, and Citrine Prime. None of that is Brysko.
What’s reported
Per Overframe’s paraphrase of a comment from Community Director Megan Everett, only two of Brysko’s four abilities existed for the TennoCon demo because it was the first time DE had ever run a TennoCon demo on a brand new frame. Abilities 2 and 3 reportedly just weren’t built yet, not held back for suspense. Treat that as a press paraphrase, not a direct quote.
Hands-on impressions from the show floor described Brysko playing like a brawler, leaning on Rain & Shine and close-range punishment more than the detective marketing suggests. A Hound companion was also teased for a future devstream, with no specifics given yet.
Overframe counts him as Warframe’s 67th frame, the next new frame after Iceblade of Narin’s 66th, though that tally comes from press coverage rather than DE’s own post. His name is reportedly a riff on Lennie Briscoe from Law & Order, respelled to sound more Sentient. One outlet, goranked.gg, names The Hunra as a character called “Aldis,” a returning character recast as a villain, but no other source backs that up, so file it under unverified.
On release timing, DE has only ever said “2026.” Some outlets have narrowed that to Fall 2026, others to Winter 2026, and the community wiki’s own infobox currently guesses “Late 2026/Early 2027.” None of those narrower windows come from Digital Extremes itself, so the actual date is still open.
