Credit Farming at The Index (2026): Which Tier Pays and How a Round Works
Three wager tiers, the 15 point banking rule, and what a Credit Booster does
Last Updated on September 30, 2026
The short answer
The Index on Neptune pays 75,000, 135,000 or 200,000 credits profit per round won, depending on the tier. High Risk pays the most per point banked (2,000 credits, against 1,500 for Low), but only if your squad kills fast. In random squads Low or Medium usually earns more per hour, and staying for several rounds beats leaving, because the wager is paid once per match.

How a round works
- Start The Index on Neptune and pick a risk tier. Every squad member pays the same wager, once per match. There is no Mastery Rank requirement.
- Kill enemies to drop Index Points. They are green diamonds; walk over them to pick them up.
- Deposit points at a bank. Each point you deposit adds 10 seconds to the timer. Each point the enemy team banks takes 10 seconds off.
- Bank at 15 points. That deposit counts as 23 points, a bonus of 8 or 53.3 percent. The bonus stops growing at +10 on 20 points.
- Watch Financial Stress. Held points cut max health and shields (capped at 10 percent or 10, whichever is greater), drain energy from 3 stacks up to 23 per second, and add up to 148.5 percent damage. It caps at 25 stacks.
- Reach the point target while ahead and the game pauses on an extraction menu. Vote to leave with the credits or continue. The wager is not charged again.
- Continue only if the squad is strong. Enemy levels keep rising, and losing a later round forfeits the rewards from the earlier ones.
What changes the payout
| Modifier | Applies to The Index? |
|---|---|
| Credit Booster | Yes. It raises the winnings, although the results screen does not show it |
| Daily First Win Bonus | No. The results screen may say it applied, but the payout does not double |
| Extra rounds in the same match | The wager is not paid again, so each extra round is pure profit |
Tips that save runs
- Bank at 15 points. Past 20 there is no extra bonus and the debuff keeps growing.
- Random squads without armor-bypassing mods kill slower on High Risk. Take Low or Medium there, and save High Risk for a coordinated squad.
- Compare tiers by profit per point, because a bigger point target means a longer round. No guide publishes a credits-per-minute figure.
Mistakes that waste runs
- Leaving after every round. The wager is charged once per match, so each new match pays it again.
- Carrying more than 20 points into a bank. You gain nothing past 20 and the Financial Stress debuff grows.
- Expecting the Daily First Win Bonus to double an Index payout. It does not.
